Depends on the dose really. Once get get fully loaded things should start to happen.

It can start to work after an hour and a half depending on the dose and if indeed it is going to work for you. It should be most effective after 3hours and when your system is loaded after around 3 days it should stop it happening, again, but only if it is going to be effective for you. This information is from my E.P.

Flecanide worked fantastically for me for a year even stopping ectopic but now it is becoming less effective so I am on ablation list.

I will keep my fingers crossed for you. X

Flecainide works for me. Apparently works more quickly on an empty stomach. Needs to be taken approximately 12 hourly. I take one at about 7.30am and the other with my evening meal at 6pm. Hope it is the right drug for you

Flecanide was strongly Proarrhythmic for me and made both af and ectopics far worse as in days in hospital worse.Don't despair if you fail some of the and the drugs. Most doctors only expect a 50% success rate. If you start a new drug and things get worse you can give it a little while to see if it settles down but if it doesn't try something else. Sotalol was even worse with me and amiodarone put me into anaphylactic shock but when I went on to rate control with things like beta-blockers and digitalis I hada few problems or side-effects. The best thing about failing rhythm control drugs is that here in New Zealand anyway your only chance of an ablation Is to fail with rhythm control.

As a pill in the pocket I found it used to take exactly 90 minutes for Flecainide to restore a normal rhythm. It's sometimes awkward trying to find somewhere to lie down for that long - eg on the M25 - so I now take it daily.
