hi, saw the cardio yesterday at the af clinic , first time since my stroke , things going slowly but surely. he now needs me to have the above test to see if there any "holes" in or around the heart.has anyone else had one of these tests, how was it etc

Yes I've heard of this procedure they do it in Liverpool Heart and Chest.
Hi Simon, I had one of these tests last year after a mini stroke. The procedure is pain free and the results are immediate so you know straight away if you have a 'hole' in your heart or not. The saline solution is injected into your arm whilst wearing a special helmet on your head with sensors which is attached to a computer screen. After a few seconds you have to breathe out as hard as you can and the doctors can tell immediately if there is anything to worry about. I was amazed by the technology and thought whoever invented it deserved a medal! Luckily my result was good and hope yours is too. Good luck.
