Finding an EP

I have decided to ask my GP to refer me to an EP. Please-- can anyone give me names of EPs they have seen either in Sheffield, Nottingham or Leicester? Unfortunately I can't find one in Lincolnshire. Many thanks.

Look at patient information on the main AFA website where there is a list of EPs by area.

I have just seen an excellent EP Specialist at the Nottingham City Hospital. . He came very highly recommended. His name is Dr Ahsan. Good luck.

I was very fortunate and saw Dr. Ahsan when I had to go to A&E earlier in the year. I found him very understanding and helpful. I saw one of his team when I went back for a check-up who was also very good. I am having a 7 day monitor fitted on the 10th October. Nottingham City is a bit out of the way for me (Long Eaton) as I use public transport, but It is worth the journey to know I am in good hands.

Also do a search for "Heart Rhythm Specialist" because all the EP's at the hospital I attend are listed as that, not EP's. If you find private consultants, remember that some or all also do NHS.

Professor Ng at Glenfield hospital, Leicester. His team have been brilliant -always at the end of an email and ringing me back. Can't praise them enough, especially his Secretary. I now live in Lincolnshire but travel back for my appointments. Good luck

A town called Gainsborough!!! Thanks for your reply. Not sure my GP will refer me but after 4 years of AF I think its time to see if anything can be done to improve things.

Hi there have you got any further with going to see an EP. I think most GPs are a bit slow in their referrals these days but that's NHS for you regards Sann

Hi! Yes , my GP has referred me to an EP near Leicester-- but apparently he will see me if I'm interested in having a Cardioversion. Haven't heard any more even though I said yes!

Also in the Nottingham area there is Dr Robinson and Dr Staniforth, both experienced and knowledgable.
