lulu91, pain or discomfort ?

sharp pain, dull pain etc,or just feels uncomfortable, are you asthmatic as the summer months along with hayfever can cause chest discomfort more so if you've forgotten to take your inhaler, any wheezing, difficulty with breathing etc

numbness in arms etc, try to narrow down your symtoms, from my experience chest discomfort can be part of Af, not so if its painful.....

I recently had episodes of mild chest pain (an unpleasant squeezing feeling just below my neck) followed by AF and SVT and severe chest pain and spent 3 days in hospital with a suspected heart attack. It was not, fortunately, and I was told the arteries spasm as a reaction to the stress on the heart. However that's just me and I would have it checked out ASAP as it is happening when you are not doing anything. I don't mean to scare you more, it is just better to be checked out before you have an emergency. I did not find it much fun!

I used to get this mild tightness in my chest that felt something like AF. Yet when I checked, I did not have AF. I did have AF when on AF medication but do not have it without medication. The pain would come and go for about three months after I went off the AF medication and I was afraid I would go into AF. I thought it could be due to AF triggers but I am not sure. I take supplements such as magnesium and potassium plus others and I don't seem to have it now. I also stopped eating yogurt. It is possible the pain is caused by indigestion. If you pay attention to what you eat, you may find a trigger. The pain can come a little while after you eat. Of course a doctor may find the cause but be careful what medication is prescribed. Sometimes doctors try things since they think some patients want them to do this.

Please, lulu 91, what are you thinking of? You do NOT seek an amateur diagnosis for ANY sort of chest pain! Indeed, it may well turn out to be just indigestion - but a doctor should be consulted AT YOUR EARLIEST CONVENIENCE!!

She wasn’t seeking a diagnosis, just others experience.

My ep got mad that I was googling and that I do not have afib just svt

The ‘experts’ hate us googling even though they give no possible causes for our issues. My cardiologist said I could just stop my dose of Propranolol without tapering - advice caused me to have to call 999.

I have suspected SVT and get sharp pains in my upper chest. The are usually fleeting and feel like they are in the veins/arteries. So maybe spasms. I take a low dose of Propanalol which brings my blood pressure too low so I wonder if that’s the cause.
