I am back in AF a year after 3rd ablation. I have been given the choice of warfarin or dabigatran before my next procedure. Any thoughts?

I have been on Dabigatran for 6 months now, very happy on it, take it, forget about it, my EP recommended it and my GP supported it, no blood tests apart from annual healthy heart check, no worries about INR results, eat cranberries and greens without effect. We travel a lot, currently in Spain, the less time spent going for blood tests the better as far as I am concerned.

Oh, and I have had 2 ablations whilst on it, just stop taking it for 24 hours before procedure.

Thank you for the reply. I am worried about excessive bleeding, as I had 2 haematomas and hospitalised for 4 days with a nose bleed on Warfarin

its good you have been offered an alternative to Warfarin as my GP would not even discuss alternative's so I am guessing they are more expensive. I hope other alternative.s give you peace of mind x
