I took it for 2 years without any problems but then noticed my mouth getting very dry and my sense of taste seems impaired. My dentist and an ENT consultant have both pointed the finger at flecainide.

Does anyone feel flecainide might influence their sense of taste?
I too am on Flecainide, Dilzem and Losartan and have been on meds since onset of AF 11 years ago. My mouth has been very dry at night for some years and my tongue sticks to the top of my mouth and the inside of my cheeks stick to my teeth. I have now developed a mouth condition called Lichen Planus which gives you a sore tongue and cheeks. I am convinced this is down to the meds I have been taking for so long. Best wishes

Thanks for that. Lichen Planus doesn't sound nice! Interestingly I also take Losartan (and Atenolol and also Warfarin) but have only been taking it for 8 months. Was on Lisinopril before and had a boring little cough which has now gone. My mouth has been feeling dry - like you, particularly at night - for a couple of years, and the saliva has not been as it used to be. I also have the sensation of wearing socks, and again this might be Flecainide. But I rarely have bouts of AF!
