Hi Goldiwonder1. To me that isn't unusually low. I am on Bisoprolol and was very concerned that it would lower my BP, being a beta-blocker, as I have very low BP anyway but my GP said it would probably stabilize it. This is was happened, my usual BP was around 85/50, 70/40 was not unusual and lowest 65/35 and after taking Biso, it raised it to about 100/70. I am not familiar enough with the physiology to answer your question re diastolic so that may be a question for your doctor. If you monitor your BP it would be a good idea to test the monitor's accuracy next time you have a GP visit and of course our BP is constantly changing. I still get episodes of very low BP but only very occasionally now. One thing I learned, I think someone mentioned it on this forum, I don't get as many symptoms eg breathlessness when I take it just before sleeping. Keep well...

Hi Goldiwonder, and welcome... I am on the same meds you are, my BP is okay - my doctor has always said if I am worried about anything just to ask, and in your place, I would do that just to put your mind at ease. It's interesting CDreamer says taking the bisoprolol before sleeping helps with symptoms as I was told very firmly to take it in the morning. Doctors all have their own ideas! I wonder what the pros and cons are myself.

I'm thinking if you take it at night you get away with not feeling to good, as I do I feel very tired so I'm thinking to change to taking meds at night then maybe in the day I shall not feel so tired. I think the main thing is to take your meds each day at the same time,It's worth it for me to give it a try.
