for high bp and AF which has become persistent since November when I had bronchitis and then pleural effusion. Does anyone take this same concoction or know more about Ramipril.

well i hope thats not true !!!!

are you saying that you did not have AF diagnosed before taking ramipril?

I am on Ram+Warf+aspirin but was not on any before the diagnosis of AF.

Suggest you just google ramipril, and look for adverse effects.

My own thoughts are that as an ACE drug, its about the best med you can be on.

Thanks for answering. I was put on warfarin in June 2012 when I had PAF and was also on atenolol for high bp before being diagnosed with persistent AF in April 2013. Then put on digoxin and also Ramipril which was gradually increased to 10mg. Had a successful cardioversion in August but it only lasted until October. Then had bronchitis and then pleural effusion,( fluid on lung.) Hospitalised and atenolol changed to Bisoprolol, and on to furesomide, ( dureitic). Lung problem cleared up after a few days but I now have back pain and as I have been told that Ramipril has so many side effects incl. AF, wonder whether this or the combination is causing muscle pain as well.

I have no idea how old you are, but all i can say from my own experience is that as every year goes by I seem to just get more aches and pains everywhere, the fact that I have been on Ramipril (10mg) and warfarin for 10 years, without those pains and aches would suggest to me that they are not to blame. But that just my opinion. We are all slightly different and of course there can be side effects from some drugs for some people, but again it does seem that we can too easily blame the drugs, and then 5 days later the ache or pain has just vanished.

You can wonder all you like, but if the pains are bad enough and you believe they may be caused by the meds. you should consult your GP to see if other meds can be used. Well thats what I would do anyway.
