All went well today asked questions which you all have suggested. Said i was a good candidate for abalation, the heart monitor had shown heart rate 180-200 bpm at night, has taken me off flecanide as this was causing side effects bad itching for one, but has put me on Propafernone 150mg x 3 and will see me in 2 months and also to any alcholol intake , i see a few people take Propaferone.

Hi virlge,

I've tried Flecainide twice in the past 10 years and on both occasions it gave me palpitations so came off them very quickly. Works well for other people though, everyone's different.

I was on Propafenone 150 x 3, a decade ago and that worked very well, but I did eventually have some side effects that made my job impossible. Extremely poor memory was the main issue (but that may be just me, again we're all different). This time I'm on 150 x 2 and it isn't quite working 100%, so I might ask to try 150 x 3 again. My 150 x 3 dose was 1 in the morning and 2 at night, not spread out as suggested in some literature, probably not practical?

This time round I'm on Accord, but before it was Arythmol. Not sure if there's a difference but I'd say they aren't quite the same? Both work on me though. But would say that at the moment I'm beginning to feel depressed which is not like me at all. It may be the drugs, but also my brother is very ill, so hard to tell what's what, but got a feeling it might be the Propafenone (or maybe the Accord version of it?).

Good luck with the ablation if it goes ahead, hope it goes as well as mine did. It worked brilliantly and kept me clear of any arrhythmia for 8 years. It's coming back now but don't think it's AF this time.

Best regards

Koll
