Hi There Caromia. I don't think from what you describe that this is AF. There are many arrhythmias and one of them is ectopics. Ectopic means not in the right place so if you get ectopic beats they come at the wrong moment.. This feels like a missed or extra beat. These are quite normal as everybody get up to 200 a day but the problem with us AFers is that we feel every little thing that our heart does. We become very sensitive to our hearts. I once had ectopcs for months and they were quite predictable in that they "missed" every third.fourth, fifth etc up to eleven and then started again at four. It wasn't AF as an ECG showed normal synus rhythm with ectopics. I was at a conference once when somebody asked when clusters of ectopics became AF but the truth is they never do. AF is quite clear on an ECG as can bee seen if you every see and ECG of a person in AF. There is no regular wave of any kind! Just chaotic jiggles.

Hope we can discuss this more at HRC.

Bob

Thank you Bob,maybe this is why Cardio says not certain l have AF and heart monitor shows normal rhythm. However other symptoms are developing like breathlessness...l used to think it was because of medication but l am confused now.

Hope you are keeping well.C

Hi Caromia - I know what you mean about your heart feeling like an old car that's been cranked up as I have had the same. For me it was a bit like a bit of old machinery clunking away, as though it was struggling and on it's last legs. I have to say I haven't had it recently. Do you have problems with soreness in your stomach, because that's what I put mine down to? Natural yogurt and eating little and often have helped with my soreness and appears to have cured the 'clunking'.

Jean

Hi again Jean.Like when trying to start a petrol mower!!!..I believe you and I have chatted about this previously Jean..[.If my memory serves me right we are both adverse to taking medication]....Yes stinging and out of breath when eaten to much..

I took your advise and from others also and had Thyroid and vit D test but they were at normal levels.
