Because i have been suffering high anxiety problems GP has prescribed anti depresants, is citalopam ok to take with other drugs presribed. I am on Bisoprosol 5mg and flecanide 100mg twice a day and pradaxa anti-coagulants.

Hi John no contraindications as far as I'm aware. I was on 10mg daily cos I was getting myself into a right old pickle with my over anxiousness. Was also taking 50mg of flec twice a day 5mg of bisoprolol daily and 2mg of warfarin and had no side effects. I've been told it's the wonder drug for anxiety and lots of people take it so don't worry. Hope that helps

The GP thinks this will help with my anxiety never had anti depressants before mind you I never had PAF before, oh well one more tablet can't do any harm . Thanks for your reply has helped.

My cardiologist said NO to antidepressants like citalopram- they are pro arrhythmic can cause AF and also are contraindicated when given with the new anticoagulants. They increase risk of bleeding! Please check with your consultant! I am struggling only with CBT therapy with my anxiety and panic attacks. I am on rivaroxaban. Kind regards. Ewa

One can go to Google and look up, effects of other medication on warfarin and a list of drugs and side effects should appear. J

I tried earlier similar medication which raise the INR level

I recommend to check your INR after starting the new meds by three days then again one week to adjust the dose accordingly

Anxiety should be treated it will help a lot in our cases
