Hi Beejay

I just looked it up as not heard of it ; but from what I've read it does the same as Warfarin.... with the same rules. I was on warfarin but it brought on my I.B.S. so after giving it a fair trial my cardio put me on Rivaroxaban. You don't have to have INR readings and can eat anything but there isn't a reversal agent at the moment ; however the life of it in the body decreases throughout the 24 hrs ...so I made a decision to try it.

Maybe someone else in forum is on Sinthrome & can help you

hope you get some info soon

Nikki

Hi Beejay

It's a new one on me, but as skary says an alternative to warfarin, and I saw your posts about suffering side effects with Warfarn.

LIke virtually all the drugs we take, there are alternatives, and it takes us a few months to find the combination which suits us all best.

I would simply say to everyone, don't accept side effects which trouble you, if you've given the drug a try and it's not working for you, go back and get an alternative, there is almost always at least one or two available.

Glad to hear this is working for you

Many thanks. I agree with your comments

Hi Beejay,

Have been on holiday so only just read your question. Thought I should tell you that I was put on Sinthrome as an alternative to Warfrin when I reacted to the Warfrin with severe diarhoea. Unfortunately things didn't improve with the Sinthrome so it was eventually agreed to give me Dabigatran. This took time as the hospital needed permission from my GP, due to cost implications. I am happy to say, so far, so good. Hope all is going well for you now. However,I fully agree with what has been said about not putting up with side effects. The af is disruptive enough to your life without adding other problems as well. Good luck with finding what suits you.
