hi im kevin. i had an ablation for af about 3 months ago .5 weeks ago i had an svt attack .but they were tellin me that was normal ?

so now the doctor is tellin me i might need another ablation?.is anyone else had this .oh yes .how long will i have to wait for the other ablation .cause i waited 5 months for the first one?

Kevin,

3 months is really too short a time to know the outcome of an ablation. The healing and scarring of the atria can take 3 to 6 months and sometimes longer. I have known many who had AF attacks 3 to 5 months after an ablation and then they just stopped. I would not get too worried about it yet. Saying that you may need another ablation is a bit premature.

Agreed on that. It takes at least three months for the scar tissue to form and often longer so don;t panic for at least six months.
