I discussed this few years back and recently with my singularly identified melanoma liver met.

The bigger question - what if the targeted tumor is not all of the cancer? What of additional unidentified tumors, micromets, cancer stem, senescent cells, etc?

For my prostate cancer pelvic mets I chose surgery. For my melanoma, immunotherapy.

"What of additional unidentified tumors, micromets, cancer stem, senescent cells, etc?"

You can only detect one nasty met on the hip. Targeted chemo is far from ready for prime time, I'm afraid.

I think your MO is refering to antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs)
