I recently discovered Laufey. She is quite the talent/artist. Reminds me of the greats from the 40s 50s and 60s. I have been playing her at gatherings all seasons - everyone says: " who's that? She is great "
Best for 2025. Keep showing us how to celebrate life
It was weird, there's a gent named Reggie aka Guitaro 5000 "Sing with me" youtube.com/@guitaro5000
He was in NYC and a young Asian girl wanted to sing Laufey, and she did a lovely job, so I took it from there and uncovered this wonderful talented lady.
great pics bruddha … looks like, as usual, you were having some great family QOL time. That’s where its all buddy…. Nailing it again. Eating some Cajun broil . Yummmmmm
The hammer and I had lobsters and garden bugs ( snails - escargot ) for New Year’s Eve…. Made my famous garlic herb butter for the sauce - garnish, with fresh ground pink Himalayan salt. Yummmmmm yummmmmm fresh French baguettes with garlic butter on them.
Sounded like WWIII here ….five minutes before to about twenty minutes after. Pictures on walls vibrated cuz of the bombs , and so loud I thought someone wrecked into my truck. It turned out to be two blocks over . lol Typical for Fresno . Rotflol.
I would post a picture of our new year's celebration, but our friend group contains 2 vegans, a self proclaimed grill master, and a couple of master bakers. I ate a bunch of stuff that I don't even know the names of (but wish I did so I could be sure to avoid them in the future). Fortunately the brisket was fantastic, and my wife's lemon trifle won my blue ribbon.
It is amazing to be here, blowing by another "best by" date, enjoying my wife, family, friends, good food, etc. Who knew that us old croakers could have so much to enjoy
lol. Happy new year to you and the better half buddy. You’re right, here we both are under the radar again… launching into another new year. How good + amazing is this. Right before Christmas, I had accepted that I probably wouldn’t quite make Christmas, I was spiraling in the drain pretty hard. And suddenly here I am , in fair to middling condition, having inexplicably improved dramatically in the last few weeks. I must be holding my mouth right or something. Rotflol.
Sounds like your holiday food extravaganza was a hit and much QOL family fun was had. That’s what it’s all about buddy.
So, here we go again …. Slipping forward into another new year… you nailed it…. For guys like us it’s the best present we could ever get. No one wakes up still sucking in air ,on the down side of new years , and appreciates it more than we do buddy. lol
Let’s all hang in here and continue to best those odds.
I was going to add that I was glad to hear that you not only got to experience another Christmas, but also another New Year. I stopped myself because i didn't want to seem morbid. But, I have decided you're like a Boston Whaler, you are practically unsinkable,
It’s snowy season here, so glad my husband is here to see it! This is his third since diagnosis and we weren’t sure he’d see any considering how poorly he was at diagnosis. Modern prostate cancer drugs are truly awesome!
You never can tell when it’s time. When I was diagnosed , a table full of doctors ( oncologist, radiologist, palliative care, hospice, PCP ) told me the end was near, that I should enter inpatient hospice immediately and they would assist my filling out my eol paperwork.
I did the paperwork and was given a adt treatment to ease my cancer pain / shrink my tumors.
That was over 6 years ago .. I’m entering my 7th year since then and still going. That shows you that even the brightest minds simply can’t say with surety.
Opening into this new year will give us the opportunity to start another year potentially filled with QOL time for ourselves and with our loving families. How good is that.
Not much Snow yet up here, but low 30s overnight and for a Hawaii born guy that's low enough😜
Beach Therapy has always been my goto, but esp recently to escape the drudge.
YASS to modern PCa Meds, I haven't needed to use the more advanced ones, just old school Lupron, Taxotere, then Cabazitaxel. 28 IMRTs in Spring 2023 finally did the trick - fingers crossed
Doc, u da best bro, looks like u know how to njoi the gifts bestowed upon us through the awesome cosmos and creator of All energy. Luv the look by the way, always fresh my friend imma share some stuff here in the ssi called NewYear, even though the platform suggests Not to do that, I know it's good to share the wealth of life experience with those whom are like minded abs spiritually linked. Let's get it in the year 3025 , yeah those years they didn't add to the Tru calendar, which we gotta do some math to really KNOW what time it is. That's wild we don't know what time it is since we are on the gregorian calender vs the Summerian out Assyrian calendars. Like 13 months to the year or 23.5 hour days, 364.5 day years, research this stuff is very interesting.
Awesome bro, that's your job Di Your Best in all things, no matter what it is for people Will find a way to have an input which you should vehemently ignore if it's Not conducive to your positive elevation of Your Spirit Mahalo nui loa Bro.
Mahalo nui loa Bruddah J, my son and his wife were home from London for Christmas, saw them over the weekend. They hiked the lil Camino 69.65 miles with me in 2019 for my 5 yr Cancerversary with #stageivpca. They used to live in Angel/Islington.
I brought the Urn from the Cremator and placed it there for a pic. I got Luna, a rescue cat as a replacement - she's getting friendlier
Another Filipino tradition, this food ritual involves eating 12 round fruits to mark the New Year. Why? Because round fruit looks like a coin, and the sweetness of a fruit symbolizes sweet things in store in life.
And of course with Pancit (= long life) in a Greekapino household. So enjoy the next 365 days.
I was going to list off my activities from last week, but when the list started with take out all of the demolished christmas wrapping paper, and change the filter on the heat pump, I decided to stop and appreciate your list. Mine was just a to do list (thanks honey).
Hope your 2025 blows the top off of 2024!
PS - thanks for the gift and the link to Laufley (my new most listened to artist - Sorry Chappell)
