"This shit's gonna kill me but I won't let it." So begins Lawrence's (my favorite band du jour) song "Don't Lose Sight." It wasn't written for cancer patients, but it is certainly apt. It is my go-to song when cancer gets me down. I hope it lifts your mood.

Don't lose sight!
it certainly does, TA. Thanks for posting. We can always count on you to lift us up.
saw these guys live a few weeks ago in St. Pete, FL. Really good! Just love them there energy and showmanship! All really good musicians too. They will eventually end up on Broadway (is my prediction 😎)
Wow! Gracie can really sing!
Thanks. Oddly timely.
never heard them before- great!
rotflol …. Randy has finally permeated.your subconscious lol. He’s irresistible ….

Oh No …!!! Now I’m doing it 😂😂😂

Gotta love the universal language 🎵🎶🎸🎺🎻🎹

No he decided against it...so relieved. He still gets in leave Cali moods, and browses real estate as an escape, but pretty much realizes under the circumstances, we're better off right here 😁 And the actual logistics of moving our horses and couple of cows, feral cat colony, our dog and cat, equipment, and 22 years of accumulated stuff...at our age is overwhelming. 100% healthy, might be manageable, but now certainly not practical.
Our farrier's father, who is Jim's age and been acquaintances for years, was dx'd with PCa same time as Jim. Jim tried to get him to go to UCSF, but stayed here in the valley. Last December the Dr's here said nothing more they could do for him. So then he finally went to UCSF. They said he'd been on the wrong track for 3 years. Started Pluvicto...by 3rd treatment no progress. He passed away Nov 6th. Jim's processing it. Made him very thankful we chose UCSF up front, and we need to stay in an area where Jim can get the best treatment.
Anyway, thanks for all the magic & music 😁 and for being here for us all...
Oh yikes, the logistics of moving all of that, glad that he changed his mind. Oh noooo, that's tragic for the Farrrier's Dad, that's so sad😪. I'm going to Ventura next week if he'd want Dad's name on the Memorial.
Good decision to stay close to UCSF, despite the CA craziness, tho d*mn gruesome tryna impose gas hike that'll cost families like another $1000 per year. Ya can't force us into electric cars, there's not enough electricity during the Summer when CA has asked people to not charge during hot temps. I have many families leaving the office, but also Aerospace engineers coming in to work at the numerous companies in Kern County
My pleasure with the music/magic, it's my Thang. Here's another:

Much Aloha and Love 💙
Thnx for the encouragement! 👍👍👍
Great voice but not my preferred genre. More of an EDM guy
Mahalo Brother, I dig that vibe/sound - kinda Church Revivalish, great harmonies and wonderful singers💙 That'll boost most moods
And this life will get ya down but I keep livin'
Imma steal that line😁

Never heard of them. Absolutely LOVE this!!!
Just when I thought I couldn't appreciate this group more .... thank you
I have never heard of them, but really good!
Hi TA,
You wrote "...when cancer gets me down".
Are you talking about other people's cancer getting you down or did you suffer from a recurrence recently?
Watching family and friends suffer is hard.
I understand that. I have to deal with my 84 years old father who is nearly 100% deaf and on top of that has aphasia (language disorder) following a stroke 7 years ago and for whom some words don't exist no more or don't mean the same thing as intended. Like when he point to the "mailbox" but calls it "plate" or pointing to his brain and calling it "auto". The poor man is always alone even when surrounded because communicating is messed up. And there is nothing much I can do for him on top of communicating with a paper pad.
Anyway, I am glad that you are still cancer free.
Mahalo nui loa Bruddah Kal,

Hope that your doing well
Laters Bruddah - Love ya
It's been a while (years) since we had a post about music that helps get through the slog of PCA treatment. I did one years ago about pieces that help with the early treatment time. TA's pick is really good for later on, waiting to see if treatment works for the longer haul.
Found this as incidental music in a construction video and it has stuck with me. youtu.be/BS7A1hJ1jU0?si=dnI...
Love it!
Great gospel! Thanks.
Oh Bruddah Kal, I be doin great😁, that last post was about my walking the Blue Jacket Fashion show last Wednesday benefiting ZERO Titled “Oh What a night” ya should jumped in, many links there.

That's awesome that those patches are working so well, more alertness is a heck of a lot better than 16 hrs laying around. And a Mood boost is even more Gravy upon Gravy
BP and BMs are manageable side effects and minimal versus the long *ss sleep and poor moods that you used to endure. Weight gain, man boobs are still minor relative to you getting out and QoLing esp outdoors on your new ride with Food Porn
Made a couple runs to Betty's after I got back from them Camino, gon do a longer stay there the upcoming long weekend. Will do Thanksgiving up here then go down, I also gotta hit up Ventura and bring up a new Memorial as I had to add names
Imma head home to Honolulu in Dec just for five days, not the 10 days like I did a couple years ago. See my Mom, eat local foods and get tanned 😆
PSA steady as she goes at 0.5, no current treatments, stopped Lupron months ago. Work is still good, boosts my mood especially with a lil cutie
A couple weekends ago I was in Huntington and then saw John Lloyd Young the Original Frankie Valli in Jersey Boys, that was a blast

Had no idea you were taking a treatment break...awesome !!!!Can't wait to see your interview.
Gosh, I sure wish Jim would try something for the mood boost, those downswings are brutal...
Oh well, maybe eventually 😏
Anyway, you're too dang busy for that PCa to catch you 🤭 stay out in front 🏃🏃🏃🌊🌊
I had done a Hormone Holiday from 03/2017 to 12/2018, no Lupron shots to give body a break. PSA hit 10.2 and then restarted Lupron til I stopped several months ago. Abi, then xtandi failed in 2020, so did that 6 taoxtere rechallenge. Then 18 Cabazitaxels in late 21 to 23, but it took the 28 IMRTs to get me low low low low down at 0.5

@dockam and friends- would you please start a new thread or PM for your personal comments to one another rather than hijack my thread. It fills up my already full inbox, and takes away time better spent. Thanks for understanding.
Awesome! Just what the doctor ordered. Thanks.
I never heard of this group but they are beyond fantastic and very tight. I can’t listen to the so called new artists that win all these awards. I find that pretty much all are not even musically inclined . Of course there are a few exceptions but I grew up in 60’s and 70’s and every week we had a new album out from the various groups that were innovative and played by gifted musicians and song writers. I play solo jazz piano as a hobby( not very good at it these days with 21 sessions of Chemo so far under my belt which effects my dexterity) So I pretty much listen to jazz and classic rock. Having said that I will definitely be adding this group to my ITunes list. Thanks Tall Allen for sharing this with us.
The music is out there, but it takes some effort to find it. Other than Lawrence, my current playlist includes Dirty Loops, Jacob Collier (I discovered Lawrence because they were featured on Djesse Vol.4, which was Grammy nominated for album of the year), Snarky Puppy, and Polyphia. I know I've become an old fart who thinks, like you, that the best music was in the past. Teenagers, who listen to the most music, will always gravitate to the most accessible love/heartbreak songs, and that's as it should be. If they stick with it, they will eventually find deeper meaning and more complex music.
I often skip QOL poss,, but this hit the spot. Thanks. 👍
Thanks TA for introducing me to Lawrence!
love the song (new to me). Now in my Spotify favorites. Thanks.
Great, uplifting song!! Thanks TA
funny...what a schtick!
have to put these guys and gal on my radar now....thanks TA.
Thanks for sharing. Reminds me of black gospel. I’ve been in a few black churches in my life and boy can they get a room to move.
Cool. So there's some humor inside, after all.
WHOWW. Love it. !! Thank you
Thank you!! (also I appreciate your insight on this forum, keep it goig!)
I'm sending to all who are going through the bad times of anything! Thank you TA. Can always count on you..........
I think the fact that YOU, TA, posted such is more UP-lifting than the song itself - THANKS - LOVE IT - KEEP ROCKIN' !!

Ryte on buddy … I’ll be looking forward to your video. Your story is inspiring. Able to move forward the way you have and gotten those results. A deserving good guy IMHO.

Mahalo nui loa Big Bruddah Kal, all that stuff I did with ZERO from 2016 at the 1st 5k event in Long Beach when I first met Vanessa, then the Bakersfield 5ks and the NYC marathons for Team ZERO got my name known there I guess, so that started the ball rollin to culminate in the Fashion Show. What a long, strange trip it's been😁
Here's a compilation vid I made for when she left ZERO: photos.app.goo.gl/crKGfcWD1...

Thanks TA for this song ! So uplifting and soulful ! I sent this song to my millennial son, and he also loves Lawrence...In fact he saw them in concert a few weeks ago in Boston ! Now on my Spotify playlist !!!
I know that many seniors (like me) are unaware of the basic courtesy rules about hijacking threads. Right now, I have about 30 unanswered emails from patients. I went to a doctor appt with a patient that slowed me down today. Probably 10 are from you socializing. I'm only asking for a little consideration.
I'm a little late to this and just listened to it! I always appreciate being introduced to music I haven't heard before and these guys great! That diminutive young lady who's the lead singer should not have a voice that's that big and powerful. Very uplifting and fun! I'll have to check out more of their music. Thanks for sharing this!
