My husband finishes his 25 treatments of radiation on Friday. Wanted to know what questions I should ask his RO when he meets with us? Also what is the protocol going forward? He’s on ADT and Zytega for 18 months.

My meeting with my RO after treatment ended was a recap of the treatment and an assurance from the RO that, in his opinion, treatment was successful. I asked what signs I should look for to indicate a side effect that needed attention. He said that with today’s precise beam targeting, I may not have side effects. So don’t fret. Just live life. He said he’s done with me, and referred all further care to my urologist, who monitored the ADT portion of the treatment.
If he had positive lymph nodes, STAMPEDE proved that 3 years of ADT and 2 years of Zytiga improve survival.
Thanks Tall. The RO has said two years of ADT and two years of zytega.
I received PSA check every 3 months for a year and then every 6 months. At some point that will move to yearly unless something needs attention.
I have found that I have less “testing” anxiety the longer the interval. Kind of “out of sight out of mind”kind of thing. No sense worrying about it.
Copious amounts of exercise, daily. Forever.
I tried but was unable to load a picture of the Biker Boys on the recumbent bikes with their shirts on.
I second that wholeheartedly. As a joke I had Shirts made for my gym buddies. I am not one of the Biker Boys. I get my cardio with a stair master and doing 12,000 to 15,000 steps per day. I also do 30 minutes of resistance work each day. I also limit my calories and make sure I keep up on my protein for muscle development.
As a result of this I now have a six pack showing and lost 12 pounds and really got back a in great physical shape.
My husband is going to start RT on Dec.2/24. So we had been told stay away from all sun for 1 year. Also no swimming pools, saunas and hottubs for at list few months. I don't know how accurate this info is.
