Theoretical dosage from a LU-177 injection

Hi !

I’m trying to teach myself facts of the different types of treatments I’ve gone through.

When having LU-177 injections I never really talked with my MO regarding dosage (actually GY).

Saw a new study ( ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articl... ) where they are planning two arms; one arm receiving 2 doses of HDR brachytherapy and one arm receiving one dose of LU-177 and one dose of HDR Brachytherapy. The study have a theoretical argument that the actual dosage (amount of GY) in both arms is almost equivelant (Most studies report a delivered dose to the tumor of 2–6 Gy per GBq of Lu-177).

I have seen posts here discussing LU-177 and seen comments that LU-177 is low radiation therapy. From seeing this study; yes LU-177 seems to be low radiation dosage in non-tumors / low PSMA expression sites but in tumors expressing high PSMA you can really have really high doses in GY.

Just an observation as a non-radiation expert and after having had 3 LU-177 injections….

Well, didn’t have any specific side-effects actually and I have full confidence in my MO :)
