Has anyone who has/are taking Apalutamide [Erleada] experienced a reduction in ferritin levels?

Yes, and iron ending with anemia too (anything with RED or HEMO) in the blood test, fortunately for me, it has been marginally low and so far, none of my doctors think they are ready to treat yet. Will try and keep you posted.... We are all different and walk different paths.

Good luck in your journey! Godspeed!

thanks; having trouble finding data that supports the Erleada link-found some but not fully definitive

My internist is pushing to find "root" cause before saying I should try iron supplements. I have already had a colonoscopy [which was clear]. Now hes talking about an endoscopy next

My ADT (androgen deprivation therapy) is Eligard (injection every 3 mos), Erleada (240mg = 4 60mg / day at same time) [both these to knock down the testosterone to prevent cancer (prostate cancer is fed by testosterone, so the idea is no testosterone, no cancer) my simplified version of doctor speak], and as an aside, Xgeva for my bones [started about 6 months after Eligard/Erleada] as no testosterone then no muscles and bones can become brittle.

All the changes I am experiencing may not be the drugs but may be caused by no testosterone. I did take some supplements (ferritin and iron but never got the chance to check for efficacy as my doctor team said, 'don't do that.' so, I stopped.

Here's what I wanted to let you know: As part of the Erleada program I was able to have consultations/counseling once a month, this provided by Janssen. It has helped me more than I know. I don't think I would be able to continue without this help. My 'counselor' is medically trained and very knowledgeable and what she doesn't know, she finds out. I am very lucky.

I am suggesting that perhaps you might be able to find medical counseling as I have and perhaps that might be somewhat helpful, as it has been for me.

Good luck in your search. Godspeed!
