I have had urinary issues for a long time. Urgency, frequency, retention, pain. No "incontinence" if i can get to a toilet or get the dick out to pee on the ground fast enough.
Every day is a different combination of the above and I have never been able to figure out what causes each symptom or how to cure it.
I am taking methanamine daily and have fewer UTIs than before taking it. I treat UTIs only when severe and have been fine for over a month now in terms of severe infection.
However last week I suddenly could not naturally void at all. Had to self cath and was really miserable on a walk on the way home having to pee desperately but having no catheter with me. By the time I got home i was screaming in pain and only had 350 ml when i finally did cath and measure it. My bladder is so thick walled and hard that 350 is pretty much my absolute max capacity.
I am not writing to complain but to explain what I have done that might possibly have helped greatly. Since my symptoms are so variable this could be coincidence and the issue might have resolved in time without the herb I am going to suggest.
I absolutely could not pee at all but could get a catheter in. A friend reminded me that plantain can help with urinary issues. Now three days later after drinking copious amounts of plantain tea I am peeing like a champ. Better than I have for literally years. So I have ordered seeds for Purple Perversion to plant in pots and around the house and will be picking up another variety from the local nursery today. A friend has been collecting the plantain for me because there is absolutely none n ear my house and I have looked a lot. Plantain is called the "white Man's Footprint" by natives because it was not a native plant but was brought here by Europeans (there is one variety that does grow on the coast as a native, i think and that is the one i will be picking up today, Plantago subnuda) and whenever the natives saw it they knew white men had been there.

no idea but it is cheap and harmless so why not give it a try. if your incontinence is caused by inflammation maybe but if it is neurological i doubt it would help.
Had several similar symptoms post TURP and radiation. Did 30 sessions of Hyperbaric Oxygen Treatments and a few months later all symptoms disappeared. That was 4 years ago. Minor issues began again recently so did another 35 treatments. Highly recommend.
Medicare covers many post radiation issues but if not cancer/radiation the best way to get a code that would be approved would be straight from the HBOT clinic or hospital. It’s in their best interest to help you. Then get a prescription from your uro with that code.
i make a tea by steeping enough fresh or dry plantain leaves in a one quart jar. very loose fill probably what would fit in a closed fist. it is hard to say how much by weight because dry is much lighter than fresh and what i have now is partially dried. cover with boiling water and cover the jar (this was stressed but i have no idea why covering is critical) wait 20 minutes or until fairly cool. I did not take any last night and my peeing is becoming weaker. will take some tea in a few minute and might then know if it really does work.
I was advised after prostate removal to do keegle exercises. I did that once or twice and never after that. Like you probably, I find that the urgency issues vary by day and sometimes even in the same day. I know of no solution, just know where you are and have a spare pair of pants if possible in case.
the external catheter is a pants saver. urgency comes from your bladder "thinking" it is full. i can, to a minor extent, hold peeing back by taking deep breaths and trying to relax. It will hold it off maybe long enough to find a place to pee.
Plantain, specifically the broadleaf plantain (Plantago major) and narrowleaf plantain (Plantago lanceolata), is often used in traditional and herbal medicine for various health issues, including urinary tract issues. However, scientific evidence supporting its effectiveness for urinary issues is limited.
Some proponents of herbal medicine suggest that plantain may have diuretic properties, meaning it could increase urine production and possibly help with urinary issues such as urinary tract infections (UTIs) or urinary retention. Additionally, plantain is believed to have anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties, which could potentially benefit the urinary tract.
However, more research is needed to determine the efficacy and safety of plantain specifically for urinary issues. It's essential to consult with a healthcare professional before using plantain or any herbal remedy, especially if you have a medical condition or are taking medications, as it may interact with certain drugs or cause adverse effects.
(Needless to say, but I will say it anyway... Bananas are a woman's favorite fruit).
