I am still finding ways to fill my free time. This is me attending a monoprinting class today. In this, one paints or squirts or uses lino rollers to create a picture on a piece of Perspex. This is then used to make a print onto a sheet of high quality watercolour paper on a printing press as seen in the background. I made several 'ghost' (fading) prints from each inking.
I was told that I could work further on each of them using, say, gouache or watercolour. I am not sure that I would dare, however. Each print, being stand alone, might feel far too precious for me to try.
I will perhaps post a few once they have finished drying in a few days. I am not sure whether to try monoprinting again, or when, even though I enjoyed it very much. I have a lot of techniques going on in my mixed media already.
And time now feels precious. This last week I have been very weak and open to confusion -- perhaps due to the multiplicity of drugs (painkillers, anticoagulants, laxatives) that I am taking, each to cover a symptom, none to effect life extension, just to effect a better quality of life that it is up to me to enjoy as best I can.
