many questions about Actinium 225

Did anyone get Actinium 225 treatment in Mexico? I heard there are many restrictions in the USA, so many patients travel to Mexico for treatment. Does anyone have recommendations based on the experience?

I am searching for someone who had Actinium 225 in the past or is taking treatment right now.

What's the cost in Mexico or another place in the world? Turkey is also an option.

Does anyone know when actinium 225 is available in the USA?

It's only available in the US in clinical trials.

Hi TA, do you know if there are any trials in Canada. Do you think AC225 is a good treatment option for where I am at currently. I just completed 6 rounds of Docetaxel and PSA dropped from 105 to 3.1 after 4 rounds. After the 5th round PSA climbed to 4.1. I will get my PSA checked out next week before I get the 7th round but I could be failing the Docetaxel. Here in Canada there isn't too many other options. I think there is a trial for Lu-177 that I could enroll in. I have been trying to get the Oncologist to let me have Enzalutamide but its not standard of care if you have failed Abiraterone. I know there is some research that proves Docetaxel could re-sensitize ones cancer to Enzalutamide.

Thanks

I mentioned Provenge to my Oncologist last year when I was starting Radium 223 and he said that the Provenge was proven not to be helpful.

I am NOT oncologist, I think do PSMA Pet Scan and see if there are any larger active lesion than go for SBRT Radiations and continue chemo.

It was proven enough for the US FDA, but perhaps Canada rejected it on a cost basis?

You can check for yourself at clinicaltrials.org . US trials are open to Canadians. Ac225 is stronger but more toxic.

You can repeat Xofigo, perhaps combined with something:

I don't qualify for PSMA Pet Scans as my cancer is too far advanced. I have multiple metastatic disease throughout my ribs, hips and shoulders. I only get radiation for painful spots. The only scans I get are CT and MRI.

May I ask where you’re being seen that you’re told you don’t qualify for PSMA scans bc of your bone mets? Isn’t Lu-177 used for people with advanced disease?

I am treated in BC Canada where I live. Lu-177 is only available in a trial at this time. I will probably try and get into this trial and when I do they will have to give me a PSMA scan. Currently I only get CT and MRI scans as SOC for metastatic disease. My Mets were more than 6 and large enough to see on these scans.
