Depressing indeed. March-in rights may sound arcane, but they've been a standard part of every one of the federal government-sponsored R&D contracts I've ever worked on. This provision makes sense and should be enforcer for cases like this.

An explanation of "march-in-right" and why people should petition their congress person to "solve" the issue.upcounsel.com/march-in-rights

I always read op eds written by lawyers with a good amount of skepticism. I never met a lawyer who admitted they were wrong or made a mistake. It's always some else's fault.

My Advantage administrator is Humana and the monthly report I receive says the charge for Xtandi is 14,300$. I mentioned this in passing to my oncologist and he looked surprised. I will take my report with me next time I see him.

I pay 100$/month. I have recently started a reduced dose of 1 (one) 40 mg/day and his office said they will continue to prescribe at 4 (four) per day, the standard dose, because once the Rx changes then it can be a wrestling match to reverse the dose in the future.

Our (USA) government Congress, has screwed its citizens for money & power given to them by Big Pharma. Such a level of Capitalism Is leaving people to die. I now am now having to pay $970/yr. for Eliquis (blood thinner) on part D.Disgusted!

You mean "talking out their axx"!

They point to the problem, they talk about the problem, they have hearings about the problem, they talk about how it's going to bk Medicare and they do ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to bring costs DOWN!

Dr. Marty Makary's books "The Price We Pay" and "unAccountable" are fabulous books written about the broken US healthcare system.

great article. This is one of the reasons i purchase from India. Feels better to pay a reasonable price for generic than to facilitate big pharma bankrupting medicare
