It took me a few months longer than the return of my T to normal. It was gradual along with the other physical changes of no T. At least for me not having them banging into my knees anymore is one benefit of ADT.

Knees? Naw, ankles!!

I had no idea I was in the company of such manly men. Mine barely reached to the end of my dick which is now a little boy's pee pee. Mine shrunk to the size of almonds and never got a chance to grow back again because I had them whacked off.

2 years into my Lupron vacation using bicalutamide ( Casodex) and my T remains in 225-275 range. Maybe that’s normal for a 75yo. As for my ‘junk’. It shrank during the Lupron years and has stayed shrunken and unused.😢 My man boobs still bounce. But, I no longer care if the drapes don’t match the paint, or wallpaper, or upholstery. And, our newest, goin’ on 4 yo, grandchild doesn’t mind ‘cause I’m 75 and still alive!!

Hi, my personal experience is not unlike what you have described here. My numbers, to the best of my recollection were very similar. PSA was 9, Gleason score 7, surgical pathology showed that the lymph nodes were clear, one seminal vesicle was clear, the other was not. When my psa never went to 0 after surgery I had more scans and even an Axumin study done. All were negative and found no cancer. My psa began to rise so I started on Eleguard and 2 months later started radiation therapy for 8 weeks. My psa went to 0.008 and remained at that level for about a year or so and is rising again now. In May it was 0.19 and in August it was 0.33. Obviously, I’m not cured. I’m not sure what to do next, at this point. Anyway, getting back to your original question, I was on the Eleguard shots for one year. The side effects were just terrible for me so I stopped there instead of staying on it for another year like the doctors wanted. It took over a year to get that stuff out of my system and Testosterone level to return to normal. Now, they say I need to go back on it for the rest of my life. I’m 72 and sure I want to live with those side effects.

If you mean literally "back to size," I don't know; I hadn't noticed that they shrank. If you mean "back to battery," i.e., functioning again and given time to restore your T, the average is about 5 months.

Yours did not shrink? Mine had been reduced to almost half of their pre-ADT size. I stopped ADT in May and after 5 months they are making their way back to their originally size.

They might have shrunk and I simply didn't notice. I was in such deep misery from the whole package of ED, sexlessness, fatigue, hot flashes, brain fog, constant crying jags and a pounding depression and suicidality, that I had no reason to look/touch down there.

Part of my issue was shock. It had never occurred to me that a drug a doctor administered to me could cause that level of suffering. It chemically neutralized every feeling that life was fun and worth living.

What was also remarkable was how relentless the SEs were. I recall telling my MO that I think I could deal with this if I could feel OK, even a few minutes each week, but no deal. It was 60 minutes per hour, 24 hours per day, 12 months per year.

You’re not alone brother.

I understand what you mean. It basically gives us something similar to what women go through during menopause (my heart goes out to them) but all at once in the span of a few weeks rather than gradually. I know that ADT hits harder the younger you are. For example, someone who is 80 and naturally weaker than younger people might not feel as drastic of a decline when comparing to how they were pre-ADT. But when you are in your 40's-50's and 60's and more active, it is a very sharp drop.

With regards to the brain fog, while some of it is likely caused by the ADT, I think it is made worse by the depression that lots of us fall into after we start ADT. My last year on ADT did not cause me as much brain fog as the years before that. Maybe that was due to my better outlook on life as I knew that the end of the treatment was ever closer every time I went to sleep.

I was 59 at the time.

And yes, seeing light at the end of the tunnel certainly provides hope.

I couldn't wait that long, and eventually quit, 12 months into a 24-month sentence. I told the guy, "Please save the rhetoric about continuing ADT for someone who cares. I don't. There are no words in the English language that could possibly get me to accept another injection." About 5 months later I started to feel like a human being again.

I was just 66 at the time June 2022, 'diagnosed' PC put those hormone injections into me, I've learnt to pee more freely, usually down the trouser leg🙄 [incontinence pads, do work sometimes🙃] what's testicles? Lifeless down there, like my pornhub subscription, lifeless🙄 Did I even have PC in the first place🤫

Words in the English language:

How about these "Mr. Horse 12888, we have a new injection that will completely (from top to bottom) change your sex from male to female. Inasmuch as you will become a whole female you will no longer have or deal with Pca". BTW If you choose the injection right now I'd have just one question to ask you "whatayoudoing tonight sweetie?"

Why men care about the size of their testicles I don’t understand and don’t want to understand. It means absolutely nothing. No one can see them except whoever we might be intimate with, and there are bigger considerations (pun intended)

Speaking of penises, I’ve also never gotten why anyone would dwell on the size of their flaccid one. If it reaches a usable size when erect is all that matters. And ‘usable’ begins at a lot smaller than guys think is tolerable. So dumb. A good partner doesn’t care about this 1/100th as much as we do.

I was a ‘grower’ vs a ‘shower’. I had a little bitty thing my whole adult life which became nicely long and thick and durable when stimulated.

Of course between RP, RT ADT etc that’s all over now. There are worse things.

in reply to London441

This was meant as a post to let men vent a little I know we all have that problem, and maybe tell them every one they’re not alone

I’m glad you could vent in your own way

I completely agree. I never worried about the size of my flaccid dick, and I couldn't even imagine noticing the size of my balls.

Honey I shrunk the kids. Best to try to do the best with what you have if it may affect your longevity in my opinion. An old saying”It’s not the size that counts its how you use it”. No matter it’s a bad situation to have your manhood taken away. They can give u plastic inserts but why bother?

Men began their fascination with their junk while they were still in their cribs. It began when woman breast fed the little ones and started to change their diapers and bathe them Powdering their junk was tickling and made the little one smile.. Then women held them in their arms and started to do that "so called" mother's dance by bumping them up, down and around. Of course all of this aroused the male babies, and planted the seed for sexual feelings. One day the little guy accidentally touched his junk and it was such a wonderful experience that he continued doing that for the most of his life. In time his junk grew and he was so proud of it that he couldn't wait to show it off. Years later he played games with his women friends by letting them use his junk as if she was shifting gears in a four wheel drive vehicle (Vroom Vroom noises and all). But the best game women loved to play was playing hide and seek with a guy who was not circumcised.

It was the remark that women invented which really got men to pull out their pocket tape measures, can you guess the remark? That's right "size matters". Enough said.....time for me to measure the circumference of each of my junk members.

So In essence it was women who started us onto the road of junk envy. So I leave the women with this question "why do women fake the big O?".... my answer is "who cares".....

Good Night to you all and to Mrs. Calabash wherever you are.

My testosterone after 3 years of Lupron returned to normal within 3-4 months after the Lupron "released". But the boys, while they firmed up to a normal feeling, never regained any size. They were about almond-sized, about 1/3 their original size, and they never got back to normal size.

No treatment for PCa improves one's quality of life.
