I am on Xtandi, so I do not need the big P.

However, cutting prednisone in half is not something I would do lightly. If you are on Zytigia you need prednisone and the lack of it can do alot of damage.

So make sure your dr knows.

Thank yes you are right for all meds. My MO controls what I take, how much I take down to the dosage of any approved supplements.

At the start of my treatment when cancer filled up my entire abdomen, plant sterols I was taking were nixed .I get blood work once a month

For others and my sake please list the effects of you know of.

Can you give me an approved short nickname to call you by. Guessing your handle might be Polish, been there.

Went from 20 mg to 5 mg and could barely walk. Now on 7.5 mg, which i can tolerate. Background

Shifted to 1/4th dose of zytiga taken with lunch. UO said cut P by 75%, down tp 5 mg and in 1 to 2 weeks ability to walk went from 40 minutes to struggling to walk 3 minutes. Increasing P to 7.5 mg was ok, could resume my morning walks.

My UO presumed taking less Z meant ok to simarly reduce P. The amount of Z in blood was not reduced because absorption is so poor, over90% is pooped out. Oil in food greatly increases Z absorption, McDonaldds big breakfast roughly 10x normal absorption so no reduction in P was appropriate.

Went to luncheon Z to try to (and did) reduce painful leg cramps, not to save money. Have been on lunch Z and 7.5 mg P for several years now.

Summary; P really important, gradual reduction under UO supervision is essntial.

Hope you find something that works for you!

Thank you Igor good info. Yes there must always be a ramp down to lower levels of the big P, I believe they wouldnt have offered if they didnt feel it was in my best interests.if only I could get rid on the belly swelly. Its really really interesting the range on the big P and there is controversy does the big P fight cancer in concert with Z. Never occurred to me that one would need as high a dose at your starting point
