There's an App called Nextdoor and they're pretty much in all the cities, even this lil town.
I posted on it for men to get screened as a Public Service Announcement for PCa Awareness Month. Many don't know that it's in September, but a whole lot more know that October is Breast Ca Awareness month.
Many companies do Pink in Oct to support women. We gotta get the word out to #savethemales
Maybe some of y'all would wanna do a lil blurb for men to get checked in your city on that app or elsewhere. Here are a few links that you may wanna post as an FYI and maybe even your own PCa saga
You're welcome, been a PCa advocate since 2015 when I 1st had a Back Bib on exhorting men to get checked. Dunno, if I've shared this with you, I blame eight years of Lupron😁
Thanks DOC for the moosic... which has charms to...... etc.
Holy Jibberfish,
Make that 21 years.....NOT 23 years (due to broken calculator)..... <--- Sits in corner with dunce cap in the shape of a huge penis.......... (all the girls in class are grinning, boys are crying)
Agreed !!!At nearly all the Rodeos, they have "Tough Enough to Wear Pink Night". The contestants wear pink and there's volunteers that raise money for breast cancer research. And they trot out survivors with their stories. Okay wonderful, I love it. However, aprox 75% of rodeo contestants are male. Do you think anyone can get a "Brave Enough to Wear Blue Night" going??? Nope, nada. Drives me crazy, what a great platform for awareness. Major League Baseball, NFL, etc could reach millions. We never heard of PSA testing before a doctor ordered it. I would've insisted 10 years ago. I've been spreading the word as much as I'm able and maybe one day these darn guys will start acknowledging this !!! Thanks for your post !!
We gotta do our own individual grass roots effort, make ripples in our circle of work, friends, and of course Social Media. and then word about PCa will slowly spread out.
We don't have a Susan G Komen BrCa activist amongst us
Yeah when the cdc & insurance companies told women that annual mammograms were causing unnecessary treatments/tests us women didn't back down and look at it now! Men won't talk about prostate cancer and certainly won't push back. Heck, they won't hardly go to the doctor to begin with !!!! It's gotta change. So many of our acquaintances & friends came "out of the closet" so to speak when word got out Jim has PCa. Like really, would have been good to know 10 years ago, would have made us (or me at least) aware!! So I've been on a soapbox for the last couple years and won't stop. But until the "boys" start pushing, us girls don't hold much weight. Thanks for all you do !!!
My PCa advocacy started in 2015, ex wife said that I was flying under the radar my whole life ( Orange County Register was doing an article about my doing OC Marathon 3 days post Cho) , and why do I wanna put myself out there now
Lol, no worries. 90% I'd think are the "brothers". Grateful you all allow us wives to be here, it's been a true life saver. Thanks for everything, and for the inspiration, and having nine-years of success !!!!! Wow
