My PSA went down to .5 from 6.0 after cyberknife. Six months later it is back to 1.0

should I be worried?

Biochemical (PSA) recurrence is nadir+2 - in your case, 2.5. Even then, it can bounce around a lot. It is expected.

I'm assuming you had cyberknife to localized prostate cancer in your prostate, and you haven't been diagnosed with advanced PCa.

So you had spinal radiation? (ignore my comments above - your profile is blank). Are you on ADT?

I was on Erleada and Orgovx after my PSA dropped to .5 My doctor Oscar Goodman said i could stop taking Erleada. the side effects were tiring, still have fatigue and bone ache but not as bad.

So, your PSA went from 0.5 to 1.0 after you stopped Erleada? That seems expected.

however, I still have my prostate so that could possibly be a reason? Is going from .5 to 1.0 concerning? thank you Mr Tall.

You are metastatic and have stopped Erleada.

but if the cybrknife eliminated the tumor then how am i still metastatic? I will report back after talking to Dr Goodman Sept 1, thank you. Jim

Sadly, you have a mistaken notion of what metastases are. You think that what you see on a scan is all there is - it is not. When your cancer became metastatic, thousands of cancer cells implanted themselves in your bones, lymph nodes, and many other places. The radiation you had only got rid of the largest one, but there are thousands more where that came from. You will never be able to get rid of them all and they will continue to grow and replicate.

Never say never. Perhaps something like with presently used techniques or SOC today. But not never.

I hope so.

I had radiation at Dr Lederman in NYC. and Brachy,in 2018 I was at 0 but two years later it escaped to my L-2. What does nadir mean, and what is PCa. thank you

Nadir is lowest PSA, But ignore my earlier comments - I thought you were talking about prostate radiation.

PCa= Prostate Cancer
