My husband has MCRPCA and, after three months or more on Zytiga he requested a break because he was becoming depressed (also had gastric discomfort) either from the Zytiga or accompanying steroids and his PSA levels continued to climb. After six weeks, he started on Darolutamide (Nubeqa). At that stage, his PSA was 1,700. It rose to 2,000 and only fell a little over 4 months, during which time he suffered terribly from constipation - cramps, trapped wind, bloating and severe pain (various laxatives had little result) - and lost over 40lbs. This week, at Oncology review, he was told to stop the Darolutamide. The plan is for another course of Chemo, starting in 2/3 weeks when he has hopefully regained some strength.
This is surely not the pattern others have seen and Darolutamide can be taken without steroids, unlike Zytiga, which I think is a big plus so we wish you the best of luck with it.
Hi,
My husband (mCRPC) took darolutamide after arbitarone wasn’t effective anymore. It worked 13 month for him. He had apalutamide first for 6 weeks and switched to Nubequa due to intense fatigue. Darolutamide was the drug which had almost no adverse side effects for him.
From all the Lutamides since he also had Enzalutamide later in a trial darolutamide worked best for him.
