Especially for Oncologists;

Doctoring is a science

And maybe even an art;

But it must be hard to shave away

Your emotions every day;

Without sometimes nicking your heart.

I think that most oncologist must be level headed and trained to be jaded to the suffering and mortalities of advanced cancer patients . They care . But probably they must protect their emotional status in order to continue that Career . Good post . Thanks

My dad was a cheerful sort, full of puns, jokes and stories that charmed all he met. My mother told me that as he neared the end of his journey with PC, the doctor left his room and was in tears in the hallway. This was in the early 90's when options were very limited.

I’m sorry about your father . My dad passed 1999 a yr after an RP at just 71 . The doc with tears probably loved your father . Some one said? “ Live so that even the funeral director crys at your funeral”. I think this was him ? Your Dad was loved . He must have been very nice? My dad is still my hero . 👏👏👏💔🕊🕊

A short man with an easy grin, honest in business, happy gardener, stalwart 2nd tenor in the church choir and barbershop quartet, who gave my son his trombone when the boy showed interest and talent. His parents died at 70, so he expected to do the same. He considered the extra ten years a gift from God to spend with his loving wife.

My dad loved by all ,played the trumpet in high school big band ,class pres in Loveland high school . I tried his trumpet at 5 but didn’t take to it . I still have his trumpet on display 💔
