He's not going to get much sleep if he has to wake up every hour to pee. Once a night is normal.

yes Tall_Allen I think he has nocturia ... but I'd rather him peeing and not peeing in a way ... he doesn't like the idea of wearing a foley catheter so he is wearing depends and we change him a lot throughout the day ... I have to make sure that I follow him whereever he goes so he won't fall ... but we live in an apt condo, not much space to walk around which is good but also bad ... not much things to do in an apt and very hard to control the air movement and temp ... oh but we have a place we call home ... it is alright ;o)

have a wonderful Thursday Tall_Allen !!!!

You have to figure out why he is incontinent. There is nothing in your profile.

oh it is not because of the advanced prostate cancer ??? hmm we are too scared to talk to the docs because of the bad experience ... I am just assuming the tumor pressing his bladder ... etc etc ... he is in a very bad situation anyways ... urologist already dropped the 'bomb' on 2 Dec 2022 stopping all his meds which were abiraterone and prednisone which was shocking ... He didn't even mention the predinisone withdrawal effects that will happen ... I guess that's the not so good thing about broken public health care ? I am a health care aide myself but I communicate to my patients a lot ... I share as much as I can regarding the things they need to know, without being asked ... so the doc not communicating is very annoying ... just be honest ...

thanks Tall_Allen ... email me monicawidjaja1@yahoo.com if you can ?

Doctors in Canada practice shared decision making. You have to open up a conversation. No one else can have any idea why this is happening. Here are some tips in dealing with doctors:

I have been plagued by insomnia most of my life. The addition of Orgovyx threw it in hyper drive .can try oxybutynin for OAB , that helps with the urgency to pee , I use flomax 2. X a day and that after a couple weeks really helped be to empty bladder. You can see if primary dr will prescribe Ramelton. - it is the commercial grade melatonin it helps if that still is an issue I would graduate to Lunesta.

thanks Allan ... yeah my husband doesn't wan take Melatonin for some reason ... he is soo worried of over working his liver , he is very self conscious on things he put in his mouth and a little picky eater, this prostate cancer attacked was a shock and disappointment for him ; the GP misdiagnosed him until it was too late ... or prostate cancer is also famous for being silent ? ... thanks for your reply ...

the good thing or not so good thing is we live in Canada with public health care ... so most of the medicines covered by our health care ...

not sure of the medicines you mentioned tho' see with public health care usually we don't involved in our care ... we leave it all up to the docs which is not so good to have that kind of mentality ... now we learned it the hard way ... ah

have a wonderful day Allan65 👍

My Urologist prescribed Flomax (Tamsulosin HCL 0.4 MG). It cut my nighttime bathroom trips by 2/3rds down to one or two trips in 8hrs.

Fight On!

Melatonin stopped working for me. I use THC

Mncwdj1 profile image

ah THC like cbd oil ? ... uhmm do you have prostate cancer ? mrsscruffy ?

THC and CBD are not the same thing. Both are part of the marijuana plant, but THC is psychoactive (can get you high) and CBD is not.

THC (indica stains) are generally used for sleep/relaxing. Sativa strains for ferrying high (they sometimes make me paranoid if I take too much).

CBD is becoming popular for sleep but it’s very dose dependent and I’ve never gotten drowsy from it. Your mileage may vary.

ooh ok but how do you take THC ?

Gl448 profile image

I personally vape or tincture for sleep. I use a really helpful brand called Dreamt which is THC and some herbals mixed for sleep. Google it for details.

Vape knocks me out quickly, but also wears out quickly. Tincture (under the tongue) hits a little slower but stays in your system many hours.

Gummies and mints (“edibles”) would work similar to tincture, slower to hit but stay in system longer.

We live in a condo apt, no smoking allowed ... so it is smelly like weeds ? Hmm ... tincture is better then ?

tincture works best for me to stay drowsy for at least six hours. Easy too, just use the dropper to put some under the tongue.

yeah maybe this is better thanks
