Study says orchiectomy has higher risks for fracture than chemical castration. I wonder why.

Association is not causation.
Agreed, but the differences were pretty significant.
It is "pretty significant" that only men get PCa but women never do. But sex doesn't cause PCa. Retrospective studies like that are useless because of unmeasured confounders.
WAS CASTRATED 8 years ago coming up in April. Just had another DEXA and numbers ONLY SLIGHTLY WORSE than results 7 years ago 1/2016. Osteopenia in 2016 and now so not at osteoporosis yet.
Just sayin -- Remaining active with good diet helps.
April 2020 I was hit by a WILD HOG while bicycling with results from crash = 2 cracked ribs + cracked scapula + punctured lung + trauma to left shoulder at almost age = 70yrs.
July 2022 ( 16 days after my 72nd birthday) another Wild Hog T-boned me into my left leg fracturing the Tibia. VERY HARD HIT then a face plant crash onto street with only the fracture a cause for concern. Using a *not too well designed knee scooter* I managed to FALL OVER 3 times WITHOUT FURTHER INJURY other than "You DUMB ASS" yelling at myself.
p.s. - only months after last Hog Hit I had to clean -up 2 yards following Hurricane IAN with Tibia still not healed. Managed to trip on debris and fall a few times without issues. So much for the DOWN FALL results caused by castration, at least in my situation. 🤔
That's a pretty old study, but I prefer to walk to keep my bones strong and the orchiectomy to prevent heart disease.
In two words, you are seeing “selection bias”. Those who choose orchiectomy have self selected and perceive they will never come off ADT so may reflect a more advanced disease population.
Thays why I did it ! I was told shots for life . ✌️
