It depends on what other treatments you have had and what stage you are in your disease. If you are just seeing the PSA rise and have castrate sensitive disease (especially if it has metastasized) , you might ask your oncologist about abiraterone. As Tall Allen mentioned, there are other treatments available. It depends on your circumstances.

Generally, doctors try to start out with the least invasive treatments first for your condition and work through other stronger ones that head off progression in other ways that work for your staging and diagnosis. Do your research on legitimate sites on treatment for your specific situation and then have a long discussion of options with your oncologist.
