Hi sorry if this question has been asked before, and I might have even asked it in the past myself!! Does it really make any difference what time you take xtandi, morning or evening, For sleep, side effects etc. Any thoughts would be appreciated
I found fatigue to be a very real side effect with Xtandi (enzalutamide). Since I didn’t want to fall asleep during the day and certainly not while driving, I always took them just before bed time. With Xtandi I slept longer and had a much deeper sleep. Hope that helps!
Hi MrTroxley. I have had horrid side effects from Xtandi. Muscle spasms have been the worst, me often waking up in pain from them. That is coupled with pain from neuropathy associated with some radiation I had two years ago. So, I am on a morphine substitute -- Longtec -- of which I am currently taking 20 mg twice daily. That makes me sleep for about 9 hours each day (two of them being in a midday 'nap'). The effects of these two drugs has me seriously wondering about my mortality. I find myself pondering my long-time motto -- 'Got to have more fun.' I just wish I knew how. Any ideas?
More fun and a good pastime was profusely masturbating......(that's out the window now!!!!)I hear you with mortality.....I kinda think of the film flat liners.
I feel I've already been to the other side, now I'm just bit of the ghost version hanging on because of unfinished business!
And more so now I got no hair and look like a poster boy for a Chernobyl holidays...
We in colder grey wet winter weather here in UK and walking in it get bit difficult when feeling bit low.
Biggest thing is at mo is friends n family.
Taking time out and going for coffees, lunch, and having a laugh.
Somebody mentioned old fashioned black n white comedy movies.

Just for today I'll have a laugh, I'll speak to friend, I get up and point forward.
Today has been a good day as I write this....
I've got a bin liner and helium if it gets to dark!!!
l take 2 pills in the morning between 10:30 and 11:00 , the other 2 pills between 10:30pm and 11:00 pm. My Medical oncologist told me that xtandi’s half live is one week, so it didn’t matter how I take the 4 pills during the day. I had to stop taking 4 pills at one time because of headaches.
If convinced that the effect is stronger right after taking then for placebo could take before bed.
Reality though is that the body maintains a steady state level of the drug over a 24 hour period of time so doesn't really matter when it is taken. IMHO.
