Update and lack of success (?)

V 50 mg three separate times now, no response. Also purchased a pump which has not produced much of a result. Minimal girth increase immediately after 10 min pump time maximum, but flaccid.

Questions:

Increase dose from V50 to 75 then 100 (?) Had no side effects good or bad from it.

Please recommend an effective brand or frank guidance on missing pieces to increase flow.

Thanks for being a wealth of knowledge and guidance.

Hi Warrior,

I myself was recently diagnosed with G9. My RO prescribed Sildenafil 20 mg, 1 tab each night and immediately placed me on Lupron/Casodex right away. At first, the pills were causing tremendous nocturnal tumenesence. Now that it has been 5 weeks, not so much. So, I too pump. I have a modest manual pump. I use it every day except weekends. It works terrific. Does your pump have a dial gauge? Are you able to establish negative pressure?Make sure you lube up as this is necessary to establish a good seal, After just a few pumps, my penis becomes fully erect. I can reach 7.25 inches with zero pain discomfort. Then, using silicone rings, I can maintain at least 6 inches upon removing the pump. I think I actually increase girth but loose a little length.

Good luck.

brand of pump?

Ty. Yes has a digital guage and great seal but honestly, no erection.

Appreciate your timely response.

Brand LeLuv. This pumps works without any medication. How much negative pressure are you drawing? I use mine at negative 8-10 mm Hg. That is plenty, any more and you will experience edema. I can not imagine these pumps not working. Slip tool into chamber and pump a few times. Blood will automatically flow into penis and become erect. It takes a little work to slide the construction rings on so that the erection is maintained after removal.

Bonro pump available online, non prescription version is same but less expensive. No gauge needed. Durable and effective. V20 sufficient. But must have some libido in the equation. So ADT can still be a game killer.

If Viagra not working suggest discussing increasing the dose to 75mg or 100 mg when ready to try having sex. If this doesn’t work look into Trimix injections. Trimix has worked well for me.

Viagra 100 mg, Levitra 20 mg or Cialis 20 mg - take whichever works best for you.

Discuss trimix with your urologist.

thanks.

Looks like the V50 may actually work, but onset time is more like 5 hours verses 1 hour....

3 am wood ( ? ) but at least the tissue perfusion element is occurring.

You have cancer and a boner is the most important thing to you?

As it was explained to me the penis pump isn't a joy toy, the purpose of it is to get oxygenated blood into the tissue to keep it healthy. Mine works so-so; my current rule is to stop after 3 decent pseudo-erections. I can't tell it makes any difference in trimix-influenced erections. Those hardly ever happen.

Keep your priorities in line with reality.

Asking for guidance, not a priority lecture.

AS we have been told and as many have stated here online, keeping penile tissue perfusion through erections IS a priority and super important for maintaining tissue health and future performance.

I was also told that Viagra/Cialis are useless.

Once again, if you actually read the many helpful posts of thoughtful guidance given on this site, there are quite a few postings that show V and C are extremely helpful with the correct dosing, timing and situation. I appreciate all the incredibly generous entries as we all navigate this shared foe.

Believe what you want. I'm telling you what a qualified physician told me. "Don't waste your money"

Medicine of all kinds is not “one size fits all.” As with all things related to prostate cancer, V and C work for some guys, not so much for others. If your doc says they work for no one, he is not familiar with the scientific literature. Perhaps he was saying they would be useless for you..

agree.

I got ZERO from V, but some response from C. You might ask your doctor for C just to try it. You will still probably need the pump.

My doctor had told me that the inability to get an erection was to be expected and that there was nothing I could do to prevent this loss. He also said that I would also lose my libido. WRONG!

About 3 months into the treatment I lost my ability to get and sustain an erection. My T was at non-detect levels, (where it has remained). I thought my penis’ sex life was over, but I had read that it is important to maintain the erectile tissue, so I tried a pump. Not much success, but it did increase the blood flow to my penis. I use the pump most days, not for sex, but to maintain circulation. After a while I thought the pump was a bust, but I was determined to not give up hope for a miracle. And then,… last November my wife and I were cuddling (naked), and wee willy raised his head. We had a blast! And it was very affirming to be able to achieve penetration, even if my erection is smaller now.

My wife and I determined to do everything we could to enjoy our rekindled sex life. In order to maintain my ability to achieve an erection I tried Viagra, but suffered from headaches. I finally got a prescription for Trimix and I use it 3 times a week.

I have not regained my normal libido, but our sex is the highlight of our days, and we are busier in the sack than two 17 year-olds. We make love at least once a day, every day, unless we are apart, but we more than make up for those separations.

I can't speak for others, but 2-years into treatment - life is pretty damn good. Would not have bet $5 on that the first 6 months of ADT, but glad I pushed through.
