Any input on take a half dose of Xtaldi while gone? Currently 160mg day. Looking for less side effects while traveling.

Most of the side effects are due to ADT.
What side effects do you want to reduce. ?
Arthralgia, dizziness/vertigo, hypertension, headaches, weight decreased?
Cutting all those in half would be cool for 2 weeks. But in the long run, ? who knows.
For those you will need to reduce the dose of enza. I guess nobody knows how proportional the side effects are in relation to the dose of enza.

This is hard to answer without knowing what side effects you are getting. If just fatigue take the four Xtandi (enzalutamide) pills at night. In any event, I would not reduce the prescribed dosage without a serious consultation with your oncologist. My wife and I travelled a lot domestically and internationally after receiving my prescription for Xtandi. That included a four week cruise from San Diego to Buenos Aires. Keep your pills safe. They may be difficult and expensive to replace in a foreign country.
Thank you for the reply. Prescribed 2 80mg daily. Glad you chimed in. Heading to Vancouver for a week then hop a cruise ship down the coast to end in La. Been taking a month now and always at night, soaking the sheets religiously.
I've seen several reports on here of guys who've reduced their Xtandi dose and found it to be just as effective in keeping PSA down, but you should consult with Doc first. If your main SE is hot flushes, there have been lots of posts from guys on what they use to help with that. I think estrogen patches/gel is one but if you do a search, you should find plenty of suggestions. Enjoy your trip!

my husband started slow.. first 1 pill for a week and felt ok, now two, and he’s feeling good, it’s been almost two weeks. The men on here will tell you to take it at night, such good advise! He works every day outside, not doing bad at all. Follow your heart!

I’ve been on Xtandi (same dose as you) since February 2022 and am 71. The hot flashes are really annoying-especially when they wake me up at night- but frankly I think those would continue if I stopped or cut back on Xtandi because of the Lupron. I’m traveling right now. We’ve been in France for almost two months. We walk several miles a day and a ridiculous number of stairs. I do have fatigue, but I have the fatigue if I’m not walking and climbing stairs, so I might as well enjoy myself. There’s no doubt that the drug is life changing and sometimes depressing, but my PSA is undetectable now and I can still do anything that I really want to. Do talk with your oncologist about the dosage and the side effects.

My father takes half dose of Xtandi since Mar 2021 and been doing good. It definitely reduces the side effect (loss of appetite) for my dad.
As TA says, the SEs of ADT derive from low T. Removing an AR blocker will not decrease them noticeably. If you're miserable, you need to either take a vacation from ADT altogether or switch to high-dose transdermal estradiol.
Just asked Oncologist (still learning all abbreviations) if I could halt Xtandia for a 2 week vacation out of the country. He said no problem. That caught me off guard.
