msutin789,

LifeExtension had an article about melatonin in their magazine this year. LE usually includes about a page of referenced articles and studies that their article is based on.

Good post!

Such accumulated observational and retrospective papers is why I take it (20mg). Plus I get to enjoy, or be terrified by the vivid dreams! 🤣

Experienced the vivid dreams for a couple of years, but then tapered off and now not much different from pre-melatonin.

Hahaha, I've tried Melatonin, but it didnt seem to have an effect... Is it something that needs to build up ovwr time (use)? Curious... And the Alternative Medicine Oncologist I met with recommended Magnesium instead (for sleep).

Thoughts?

I also found mixed, inconsistent, unreliable results with melatonin, independent of dose. Magnesium powder (in a product called “Calm”) has helped me in the past for sleep; lately however I take it to address muscle cramps (which were keeping me awake…so, yeah, I guess it’s still helping me sleep) and to help with regular BM’s.

Mg allegedly has a calming effect, but I take it in the morning and I’m still cranky all day.

Where's Nal when you need to pick his brain...?

I’ve taken 20 mgs per night for seven years. Per my Nat dr. 💪

10mg/night for about 2 years. Can’t say if it’s helped or not. Too many other drugs in play
