Right now I'm at the hospital due to severe lower back pain and stomach pain. My MO ordered full abdominal ultrasound sensing that it was acute appendicitis but all was clear. What they found was well defined, thin walled cyst in the right lumbar region in contact with the inferior margin of right kidney and adjacent bowel loops that show multiple thin septations. Tommorow a CT scan will be order to see a clearer picture on the cyst. MO also ordered PSA and to my surprise it was .170 from previously <.006 for 2 years I'm still taking bicalutamide which I now plan to stop. Am I officially metastatic with the sudden increase of PSA or does the pain Im experiencing right now has something to do with the increase? What would be my next step aside from stopping the bicalutamide?. See my profile for further info on treatments done. Thank you

Cystic metastases of prostate cancer are a very uncommon event and a PSA of 0.17 is pretty low. Wait to see what they find in the CT scan.
Hope all goes well for you! Keep us posted. Aloha!
Stay on top of it. I know you will!
