Are the small nodes on your prostate? Or are you talking about lymph nodes? If all the cancer is still in the prostate your are not metastatic and certainly not stage 4. Perhaps copy & past your biopsy results here for better commentary.
Yes it is stage IV - but what of it? It may still be curable. It requires whole pelvic radiation with boost dose to the prostate and the known nodes and 2 years of hormonal therapy.
I suggest this clinical trial:
When I was first diagnosed the cancer has spread to one lymph node. The radiation sessions that I had killed the cancer on the lymph nodes. I have had this condition for 17 years. I am sure technology today is much more advanced. Don’t freak out you will be fine.
That is great to hear. I too have only one node involved after removal. Had radiation and hormone therapy (Lupron and Abiraterone). I am hoping for the same. Very good thing to read on my 70th bd today.
What type of scan? If the nuclear scan, then a lot of artifacts will increase uptake. And as others have said, if they are lymph nodes in your pelvic area, it's still considered curable. I had 1 positive lymph node discovered during surgery. Eight weeks of radiation and 24 months of ADT later, the cancer is hopefully gone for good.
Hi.I had t3. N0. M1. Gleason of 9. Age 49, fit healthy
Told incurable as 2 bone mets in pelvis.
Started hormone injections.
Started enzalutamide, 2 weeks later, side effects not tolerable for me(mainly the no sleep and feeling suicidal a few times a day!!!) So came of....
But when went in see oncologist about coming of, I questioned the N0 diagnosis for the nodes????
I had pelvic MRI where consultat sort of sees the prostate.
A bone scan
But some how, this was enough to say no nodes are involved????
Still waiting for them to get back with an answer that makes sense?
So!!!!
With your initial thoughts.
I think it's prudent to get full facts on findings, then get clear understanding of what facts they have,
Then ask for them to get enough tests to get full picture as much as reasonably possible???!
How were you imaged? Standard CT and bone scan or was a PET scan also done?
