Update (Almost 8 years on)

I seem to only post yearly on the diagnosis anniversary but read daily and always hope that we can give others hope

My husband was diagnosed early October 2014 PSA over 700 , widespread bone mets

We’ve still only done Hormone Treatment, Zolodex and Enza have been kind to us and has allowed good quality of life, one Grandchild born 6 months ago and another due very soon

PSA has crept up slowly over the past year but only seems to be rising by .1 every two months Sending love and strength to everyone

Yay and Congrats, it's always a wonderful thing to hear of success on HU. May he continue to have a long durable remission.

What was his lowest PSA over the years and what now?

And how was his underlying health up on diagnosis? Good cardiovascular health?

His PSA went down to <.1 when he started enza, stayed there for 3 years and has been increasing very slowly over the past year

His health was good and has remained goodNo side effects apart from a little fatigue

Thanks. That's probably an important factor in his success thus far.

Thank you for that bright lite, my numbers and mets some similar last year. I am not able to bring up his medication line from 8 yrs ago to current. Diet changes? Alternative support? Thank you

Thanks for posting this, LB100, I am just starting my journey on ADT + AR and this gives me great hope (although I know everyone is different and there are no guarantees). I sincerely hope your husband's treatment continues to be effective for many more years.

Thank you! I am 78 years old, was diagnosed eight months ago, multiple bone mets. PSA was 19 at diagnosis, currently 0.04. Doing only hormone therapy, and feeling pretty good. Some pain in hips and legs, but I also have neuropathy and arthritis, so never sure what is causing the pain. It is so encouraging and reassuring to hear from you and others that have held on for years!

Wow. PSA of 700 plus widespread bone mets? And almost 8 years with ADT, Zolodex, and Enzalutamide? Fantastic!

Great news....can you share what the Gleason score was when diagnosed?

LB100 profile image
LB100

He was never given a Gleason score. I think that was because the cancer had already spread
