T is suppressed. SHBG binds/transports tT. Your SHBG doesn't matter much when your tT is suppressed. 86 isn't very high - mine was about 300 prior to ADT/SPT/BAT. Every therapy has dropped it. It's sitting around 20-40 today.
But I guess the higher the better for SHBG since it should reduce your active T. Your numbers are so low it's probably a don't care.
Refresh my memory: are you on Lupron? Are you using any other anti-androgens?
With the lower dose of Zytiga it will be good to test T again after a month or so (it was hard to track this down but T starts to recover after a month or so off of Zytiga - I don't know the variability of this). And of course Lupron alone will reduce tT but is it rare that it suppresses it to these levels.
No anxiety, just trying to get as much info as I can, they may be meaningless now but when I go off ADTs they may give me a heads up as to how I am responding.
There is a difference between data and information. You are just collecting useless numbers that cannot conceivably have any effect on treatment decisions. THe ONLY reason to have a test is because it can effect a treatment decision.
Yes, Scout. You are on ADT. The whole purpose of which is to suppress testosterone to castrate levels, defined as <20 ng/dL of total testosterone. You are way below that so it is working. The rest do not matter when it is that low. Only if and when you come off of ADT and testosterone production recovers (or not) will the other numbers matter, even though it is true that free T is what is active.) you need not be concerned with it now because you are indeed castrate biochemically.
It’s going well. Just a bit of fatigue from the radiation working inside. Sydney is lovely and exciting but intense and busy. Walking everywhere as well as ferries and fine dinners. Spending time with Marnie and Ron of APC and their family. That is the real treat.
Yes, doing Free T tests (last 20.3). Total T 242. Taking the Avena Sativa and Stinging Nettle you mention currently. I think I will double until next blood test. SHBG is 65, at the high end of range. Currently taking Boron 9mg and Magnesium 400mg, so may need to up that?
