I posted yesterday that I have lost muscle mass due to no cholesterol. I meant no TESTOSTERONE. I want to know if there is any way I can rebuild my muscles.

Yes, start lifting heavy at the gym 5-6 days a week and use a compound called Ostarine. It facilitates quick muscle growth and strength while helping to suppress Testosterone. I have gained 1 1/2 inches on my biceps and am leg pressing 550lbs all in 4 months time. Check with Dr. first and do your research. I too was a 185lb weakling. Not any more

Read the exercise section and the section on SARMs (e.g, ostarine). drive.google.com/drive/fold...

Slowly but surly, just keep up the exercise, in my case it’s been rough due to Mets in my sternum. Not supposed to lift more than 8 lbs but I do. Didn’t know how far I had went down Hill until I tried to sit up off the floor using my stomach muscles. Wow. 😡. Keep up the fight warrior

Is muscle loss causing issues or is it only a vanity problem? If you have a history of physical fitness and weight lifting, go for it; otherwise, you could hurt yourself. I'm very skeptical of all these late-in-life muscle maniacs on this forum. I think they must have all been weightlifters all along.

IMHO only, address the problem if it's a problem but proceed cautiously. Get a physical therapist before a personal trainer because trainers are all about 24 years old and only care about getting big or getting in shape, neither of which are particularly important. Make sure you're doing the right thing for the long term. Don't worry about what you look like as much as building functionality.

Good luck

If you start lifting weights, start out slow. You don't want to be a 175-pound weakling with a back problem.

I’ve had the same problem and was just jogging, not weight lifting when going on ADT. After 1 1/2 years all muscles were gone and my wife had to open bottles. This was the moment when I started working with dumbbells. Start slowly, I started with 2 kg and had problems. This was 7/2021. Not, on 5/2022 I lift 4 1/2 kg 12 reps - 3 sets. I‘m doing planks and lower back gym, too. Checkout the APP HasFit, it’s free and it helps me a lot staying motivated. And don’t do too much at the beginning. It’s a marathon, not a sprint. Good luck!

I can relate to wife has to open bottles. I have a pair of channel lock pliers also as a back up. At first I had trigger finger and arthritic symptoms. That thankfully has cleared up and not sure if it is the celebrex or just the passage of time but I still dont have any hand strength.

Can only recommend starting with tiny but consistent training steps, if your doctor is ok with doing so.

If your doctors are OK with it, you might consider getting a home gym set, which is a multi- purpose nautilus machine. You can do many different strength exercises with them for your arms, legs, back, etc., and can start with light weights and work up in weight over time as you get stronger. No trips to a fitness center, no gym rats, work out at your convenience. Just an idea.

I am also 70 and have been in this fight for 4+years. My focus has been remaining active. You can see from my profile what all I have had so far. Currently on Zytiga, dexamethasone and eligard. Just got back from 4 days of back country skiing at Hatcher Pass Alaska. Have managed to keep climbing (can't do cracks anymore as my skin is too fragile from steroids), skiing, hiking and backpacking. Just have had to accept I do less in a day than I used to be a long shot but am still enjoying it. Try to lift weight and ride stationary bike on days I am not doing something else active. Try to do yoga every morning. Don't thing there are any miracles out there for the muscle, endurance and slow recovery due to lack of testosterone but you just have to keep at it. Best wishes.
