6 years post Diagnosis!!

Hey brothers!! Today is my 6-year anniversary from my diagnosis on my birthday at Age 46. That was by far the most shitty birthday ever - but now at the ripe old age of 52 I am thankful for each birthday and every day I get. I’ve taken a lot of arrows over the years fighting this dragon. I’m still standing, still working full-time to care for my family and trying to keep this dragon in the cave. My kids are now teenagers and Im thankful to have been around to witness them growing up, now I need to live long enough to watch them turn back into humans. I’m on a therapy now that was not SOC for PC when diagnosed- the science is rapidly developing. What was impossible to imagine a few years ago is now possible.

Stay Strong Brothers!!!

Congrats. My 6 year is june 13 this year. I remember it well, it was a friday evening when a nurse called and said your PSA test came back as 12.3 , and my new life began. If she wouldnt have pushed earlier in the week for me too take the PSA I guarantee I would not be here now. thankyou Nurses.

Way to go. Thanks for the positive post. I don't have to look at your bio.

I always remember you for your young age and your struggle for treatment coming from the remote wilderness of Alaska. What a battle. One I would struggle with even without PCa. Life away from civilization might be alright. Unless you are in dire need of medical help.

Here's to many more B'days and a fulfilling family life.

6 years for me June 6th. Indeed it has been a long strange trip. If I had to do it again I wouldn't change a thing

I'm starting my 8th next month. Figure I'm half way there.

I’m on year 4 and if I could squeeze out 16 years I’ll be a happy guy!

I'm convinced that I'm just lucky. My MO has always played her cards close to her chest. I go with the flow and refuse to stress over whether or not I try someone with a reputation. I won't leave the county much alone the state.

6 years since my diagnosis in May too. I have come out the other end with psa <0.01 and 4 Mets all but disappeared. I am able to live generally well on continuous Hormone therapy at 73 years of age. Even though my cancer returned on my T10 spine this time last year, SBRT worked successfully. Best wishes to all other contributors on this site. You inspire me every day.

Wishing you another six years and more in your battle with the dragon. And another six years and more enjoying your family and life.

The array of weapons being developed is very encouraging so let optimism rule the day.

You rock, bro!I’m 2 mos away from 10 years. One doc gave me 2-4 (mine has metastasized to the lungs). Screw him 😂. I’m 74 and playing golf and pickle ball and enjoying every single day. (Plus I do what they tell me at M D Anderson.)

Live each day to the max and spread the love!

God speed!

Congratulations Chugach, I'm coming up on my 19th year from diagnosis in May at age 51. Surgery, radiation, androgen deprivation, Stephen Strum as a coach, some of the best doctors in the world, and every crazy alternative therapy that you can think of, and I'm still kicking around. Last month PSA <0.01 after PSA of 35 at diagnosis. Keep the faith brother and don't let it rule your life!!!

Thank God that you are here . 46 ,I’m sorry , that’s a travesty young man . I’m at 7 Yrs this month myself . But I was 53 then . So let’s keep skipping down the path . You offer hope to the young newbie . I agree , you will see improvement in care . We all pay the price to walk the line . Love and family is worth it . 😎👏👏👏👏👍
