Anyone use Markus Hartenbach, MD, for LU177 in Vienna Austria (Minute Medical)

He reviewed my PSMA scans and is recommending a set of three therapies with 7.5GBq Lutetium-177 PSMA and 4 weeks gap in between each therapy

Cost $65K US.

LongtermThe number seems high... genius care in Australia is 11k to 13k per round. I do think we will start to see more locations in the USA offering 617 in the near future.

I did by the end of February first out of the 3 planned Lu-177 infusion, planing to do first blood test by the end of next week, so I cannot tell how it is working yet, but we all have different circumstances... so effects will be different to all of us.

Additionally I did ordered FDG and PSMA PET/CT in Vienna through him prior to Lu-177 infusion, very useful and necessary to understand what is going on with your cancer. He is good in reading scans and takes his time to do that. FDG scan is not a routine and I specifically asked for it.

I realized that having your PSMA PET/CT by one specialist might give your wrong understanding of your situation, many of us does not realize that and often wrongly can rely on only PSMA PET/CT reading we get.

After the infusion you right away back to your hotel.

I had nausea for a week and a bit of tiredness, otherwise not side effects to mention.

It is indeed expensive and you can find cheaper options of course, however if money is not the issue... I so far can recommend him.

You can check my profile, I live between Caribbean and Dubai. I'm hormone sensitive and stopped Orgovyx 5 weeks prior to first Lu-177 infusion.

You do not need to start any kinds of ADT prior to Lu-177, Hartenbach will recommend you to start it 10-14 days prior to the 3rd infusion to increase PSMA expression. I'm planning to do that, of course it depends on blood tests.

Hi LT. Dr Hartenbach administered all 3 of my LU177 sessions in Sept, Oct, and Nov of 2020. Was and still am hormone sensitive with no prior treatments. Gleason 4 + 3. Diagnosed in 2006. Doubling time around 1 year. The treatments were highly effective for me but did not eliminate the mets. He recommended 3 more treatments but then Austria, Germany, Australia went totalitarian goofy so I wasn't comfortable in attempting travel to those countries. I highly recommend him but it was expensive and I can no longer afford him. My next option may be India. No side effects whatsoever other than a little nausea for a week and the medication helped with that.
