Would you do 400 Kegels a day?
Both of my pelvic floor physical therapists (first after RARP, second after ART) only had me initially doing a single set of kegels three times daily. Each set had two exercises: 10 holds for 5 seconds (increased to 10 seconds as the muscles strengthened) with a few relaxing belly breaths after each hold, and then 10 quick kegels. This would address both slow twitch and fast twitch responses when trying to control inadvertent urine flow. SEMG was used as a feedback tool to monitor the strength of the contraction and the degree of relaxation. Good pelvic floor tone was the goal -- strength and flexibility -- contract and relax. The bladder sits on the pelvic floor and a hammock is much more comfortable to rest on than a board. Good kegel technique involves focusing on the muscles of the front of your pelvic floor (my PT's mantra was "Lift your penis and hug your scrotum, but don't be anal with your kegels!"). Good technique also has the muscles in your abdomen, back, buttocks, and sides relaxed as you perform a kegel.
As control was regained, the number of sets went to two and now only one is needed to maintain sufficient tone. This is what worked for me; however, as Chris stated in the video, he needed more . . . just have to find out what works for you.
Thank you
Periodic muscle toning-up is a good thing.
Between the ages of 43 to 53 I used to do 1,400 sit ups a day. 4 sets of 350.... In a row..... 5 minutes time out.... Now Kegels are another story......
Good Luck, Good Health and Good Humor.

If it is prescribed for me, then you're damn right I'll do 400 Kegels per day!
I dream of a pinch valve that uses 2 magnets, one on each side of the pipe. One magnet external, just lift it away for flow.
