RSO for cancer?

Hello, looking for information about using RSO for prostate cancer treatment. There is lot of information out there with mixed results so I wanted to know if anyone on here has had first hand experience using it? I will be starting hormone therapy in coming days which I’m not looking forward to, and was wondering if taking RSO along with traditional treatment is an option. I realize RSO is not recognized by medical community and it’s even illegal in some areas but have heard anecdotal reports of it being very effective. Thought?

You "have heard anecdotal reports of it being very effective." Anecdotal is all you will get. No PCa studies on PubMed for cannabis oil (let alone Rick Simpson Oil).

Presumably, you wouldn't be using it for pain management. Might be good for promoting a feeling of well-being.

Would be interesting to hear from those who believe RSO has PCa-curative powers. I can't remember anyone in the group claiming a cure, though.

Good luck with coping with ADT. Exercise might help.

Posters on other, less incisive cancer forums push RSO, but it could be marketing efforts. I use moderate amounts of THC tincture nightly, nothing approaching RSO levels. I do eat apple seeds regularly, which is the other Rick Simpson recommendation.

Hey Luis. I bought into the RSO method six yrs ago upon #4 dx . As I did imrt Lupron Tak -700 I also did 60 grams in 90 days twice in a row . I had tubes out of my back for 18 months too . Needless to say there were days towards the end of the RSO cycle were I ramped up to just under a gram per day ..alot of couch time .. I even passed out a few time getting dizzy . Somehow after months of adt and 2 months imrt I went into a clear status and have stayed here six yrs now . I also did RSO suppositories at that time . Plus high dose C ivs twice weekly for 18 months . No sugar ,holistic diet ,no animal proteins . I cheat a little sometime now .. I smoked a joint or two amongst friends over the 70-s on but never smoked regularly because I didn’t want to be slowed down . Part of my problem was always self induced stress .. since dx I have had daily morning nausea and no appetite due to Tak -700 adt drug . So I wake and hit the gorilla glue after taking a hand full of nutrients . Only then can I eat . Many of us here are on mood drugs sleeping aids and severe pain meds . I’m on none yet fortunately . I now enjoy the high of high dose Thc . I’ve done a small dose twice daily of the oil since dx . A lifelong friend donates the flower and I make my own oil . I smoke to relieve anxiety and the dulldrums of no t .. I’ll continue to do so as long as it’s in my power..I bought into the theory that high Thc kills cancer cells . The theory is that every cells takes in Thc but c cells can’t handle it and implode .. I believe in JC and miracles too. 🙏

I did two full RSO protocols after Dx in 2018. Didn’t lower PSA, didn’t help my measurable mets. I’m hoping it may have killed my circulating tumor calls and micro mets cause my blood stream was saturated with high THC full canabis extract oil.

Two rounds? So did it. It was interesting when the doses got big towards the end?. I don’t think it hurt anything .I’ve done so much stuff that it’s hard to really know what’s helped me? Good luck

I did rso for 3 months last year. Felt great and healthy but my psa kept on rising so I gave it up as it was too expensive to keep on taking it at 1g a day. It think it was costing me $2000 a month.

I still take regular THC oil and CBD oil two hours apart but in much smaller quantities and it is costing me around $80 a month.

I did that too my first yr . 120 grams x 40-60-70 per . Spent mucho? From dispensaries . I’m Totally against dispensaries for cancer patients . It Should be free.. I’m against the current pot system ..It s bent to the big $$ big grows and knocks the mom and pops out of business on purpose . It’s like corporate farming . No more small farms

Well if you have past experience with cannabis you will feel like a kid in a candy store at the Illinois dispensaries. All forms all varieties available. I don't live there anymore but I used to go to one in Arlington Hts. ( golf & Arlington hts road).

Cannabis oil would likely be a good complement to standard pc treatments but not a curative by itself. I have been using cannabis for glaucoma for nearly 49 years and also use it for pain and other issues. I also use a full spectrum hemp CBD tincture as well and a CBG Cannabigerol tincture. I have been taking 200 mg per day CBG capsules I fill myself which I started before radiation and bicalutamide last year and earlier this year. They were recommended by a friend who is an internationally known cannabis researcher and physician. I also make suppositories using CBD, CBG and full spectrum CBD oil plus a little THC cannabis oil. I vaporize cannabis flower throughout the day. My treatment went well and I've been on a break and having new PSA and testosterone readings later this month. It's a great adjunct to treatment and helps me with mood and appetite too as well as gut issues. I had no nausea, diarrhea etc through 20 radiation treatments to the prostate and 5 to mets on my hips. To each their own but it has been invaluable to me through a lifetime of ill health and 4 open heart surgeries.

RSO will NOT effectively deal with PCa - don't believe 'anecdotal' evidence because it is scant and unreliable.

I have researched this extensively (I'm also a legal, licensed grower) and have STOPPED using medical cannabis for PCa after several years of monitoring test results.

It is possible that it can do more harm than good .....
