I'm trying to figure out what these results say....There must have been some residual killing of cancer more than two months after the LU 177 treatment. The PSA drop then was dramatic. My bone scan (from the best I can understand it) . Here is how the scan results read:
"FINDINGS: There is diffuse increased heterogeneous radiotracer uptake throughout multiple osseous structures including the skull, bilateral clavicles, bilateral humeral heads, multiple ribs, iliac bones, proximal femurs and spine which correlates to
sclerotic lesions seen on diagnostic CT 8/9/2021. There is relatively normal radiotracer activity in the lower lumbar spine. These findings appear similar to outside bone scan dated 6/16/2021, however significantly worse compared to bone scan 7/1/2019."
**to me it appears that I am staying "stable" right now in terms of cancer growth and spread. I'm NOT happy with these results...but like I tell my oncologist..."The good news is that the bad news could have been worse" I am still hoping (against the odds) for some "Abscopal" effect from the LU 177 treatment and that the "flare" that we saw....will keep going down. At this point I cannot do any other treatment as my hemoglobin, white cells, red cells, platelets, ANC (absolute neutrophils count) etc....everything to do with my blood being produced by my marrow is "FU@&ed" up. **Pardon my French. Other than extreme fatigue and weakness, I am feeling amazingly well. My insurance sent a nurse out to my house to give me the numbers for HOSPICE...and tell me I need to get prepared. That was like getting hit by a train. I later spoke with her and she said she didn't mean to scare me...oh, well. I'm still eating well, sleeping well...and loving life and my puppy and my.....Husband.
I hope all are in a good place!
Life is Beautiful.

After a coma like nap after I wrote this…I feel better than I have felt in weeks! Usually I woke up from sleep or naps just as exhausted as when I went to bed. I hope it’s a turning point!
"The good news is that the bad news could have been worse" Lol you always make me laugh, brother. Send the hospice lady away. Fuggin insurance
I know the “ train in the chest “ feeling , BJ …. half my very first meeting with my oncologist was with my 3 member hospice crew . Wanted me to go into hospice immediately. I’ve never used them yet , thank goodness. You sound pretty good right now …. Hang in there and eat everything you like to build that blood back up. You’ll know when it’s time to talk to the hospice crew, doesn’t sound like it’s quite time yet brother and long as you are comfortable and not suffering. I’m thinking positive vibes that you can hang on long as possible. Hugs for both of you.
Well, you’ve always had a good appetite John! Broiled lobster with stuffing and melted butter is my favorite food in the world. Wishing you continued well being and many more great meals with your hubby and Sparky.
Good to see you are not at all “crabby” and are able to “claw” your way back from treatments in such style. Big steak and red wine also builds blood? 👍👍💕
Bloody hell, you certainly have some battle there. The crab looks lovely and long May there be days for more culinary delights. Stay strong as I’m not sure I have your capabilities to deal with my future holds
As your new friend here in Ireland ☘️I’m praying you’ll get a good run of time now to enjoy more of life. Maybe even get to visit me here in Dublin. We all need to believe and hope. Sending all the positivity I can your way that your journey has loads more good in store.
I am pleased to see this update, was wondering how you were doing. I have gone back and read many of your posts and drooled over the pictures of your culinary delights. You are an inspiration and give me hope for much more time to battle this beast we all share. Live long and prosper Great John.
I am in Kalamazoo, Michigan so just due north of you across the country south to north. Two years in armed with radiation and Lupron, living in the moment!
Thanks…beautiful. I’ve got a form of BAT therapy I I’m going to present to my oncologist and see what she says about it this next week. It seems like one of the only things I have I can do right now.
Wish I had a place to get such a feast.... Lobsters are rare in North Idaho... Radiation therapy killed my bone pain, now this damn new double pulled catheter from my chest up into my neck hurts like 'heck' right now. Only in for 2 weeks so maybe it will quit hurting by the time they pull it out... Glad to see "Life is Good" for you too.
Have you ever read Dr. AKM Shamsuddin’s book “IP6 and Inositol” ?(Amazon). I have been using IP6 since 2015. I am a G8, psa 0.05, 79 yr old Floridian and diagnosed in 2012. I recommend cell forte IP6 and Inositol powder, not capsules. The reason being your dose at this stage of disease progression needs to be high enough to be effective and capsules would take too much time. I take five scoops a day in cold water on an empty stomach. You may have to consider taking more in two separate dose sessions.Good luck and private message me if you need any more guidance on actually taking IP6. I should add that my only treatment since 2012 has been Lupron injections (and until 2016 it also included Casodex).
good luck to you man , positive attitude can only help as well
It wasn't a train but I did get run over at the poker tables this morning.I sure hope that you can keep the hospice people at bay, not that they aren't good people.
I'll second CalBear's IP6/Inositol suggestion. I started taking it a few months ago and it isn't expensive. I also just started taking Honokiol after a post by Nal on this site. Hope you make dramatic progress.
I have heard they have trials that are giving Ketruda along with another immuno drug to all comers with advanced PCa. check on .gov and with your doctor
That crustacean looks outstanding. I know exactly how you feel, I have had similar conversations. Nobody can accurately gage your will and health to move on.
My apologies for humor, but this picture from the movie "Alien" is the first thing that came to my warped mind when I saw your lunch! Hope it was delish! Sending up prayers and good thoughts...
