The forum has become more accomodating now to bring up the subject of Complementary therapies." Only a couple of years ago, we used to have fiery debates and hostile interactions if anyone talked about complementary therapies. A lot of credit goes to members like Nalakrats, PJoshea and others who helped liberate the forum from the straitjacket of "Only SOC and Nothing but SOC" chains. There is a lot of information in previous posts about herbal , dietary supplements, Exercise and other complementary things one can do. It is not necessary for me to repeat that and bore you.

I have done extensive reading on the subject. My conclusion is if used carefully ,logically and judiciously, complementary therapy has definite role in slowing PCa and/or reducing aggressiveness of PCa. There are thousands of research articles available.

There are not many randomized controlled trials because who wants to fund the RCTs on "poor Garlic". My request to SOC pallbearers is to be kind and allow people to express their views about complementary therapies because for us ..PCa is matter of life and death. We do not have 15-20 years to wait for Controlled trials to prove that Cauliflower keeps Lutamide meds working longer and delays resistance. I use at least over a dozen dietary substances every single day along with 97% plant based Diet (Yogurt is only exception)

Looking forward to reading experiences of fellow members about complementary natural substances that helped them.

The role of complementary therapies is in no way to replace the chemical therapies. When the House is on fire, the first thing to do is to extinguish the fire.

Once fire seems to be extinguished, but it is still active at coal level.

I am diagnosed in May 2019 with T3BN0M1...whatever it means.

Went thru ADT and RT and then I am in remission.

Personally I never visited anty doc in my life and It was quite an experience sitting in waiting rooms and doctors working like robots with 15 min each patient. I wonder why they are in such inhuman life stress....Just observing them makes one feel sorry for them and healthy person become sick in waiting rooms. Sure we the patients have accepted all this and doctors got trapped.

So I am in remission, I ask doc what are the therapies for me to stay in remission....

Answer of Onco, RO, Uro.....none till recurrence.

Guidance from these types of docs on

Nutrition .....nothing

Exercise ... nothing

Mind body nothing

They treat the sickness with toxicity, but not the patient.

And the above three items are a must for keeping fire in check and patient is all alone by himself. That is where our medical care has failed.....

So here comes the role of supplementary therapies, which may vary from one patient to other....There is no one fit all

Marc Scholz says...try and see if it works

Supplementary therapies have also a role during follow up of Toxic healing therapies.

We can never do CT for supplementary therapies as it is unique for each patient.

Personally, I do not want CT and be put in numbers....I am my own CT as my system has its own unique characters......beauty of being human.

Sure a general CT gives a common working protocol as we human have some similar characteristics...

It is upto each patient to find the right choice, but we all can share our paths without any negations or fake hopes. Thus learn from other patient journey and find out ourselves which one relate to me.

That is where this forum does an irreplaceable service to us all who want to get involved with supplementary..NOT ALTERNATE, therapies.

Let us share and be wise enough to choose what fits each person......

I am only responding with my personal experiences. NO ONE on this forum wanted complementary therapies to work more than me. When my psa started to rise after treatments, I used many many many complementary therapies that I found on the internet and found on this forum. NONE of them slowed down my psa rise so I gave up on them. It’s possible that I didn’t use them long enough or didn’t use the right dosage, but I used them for at least 3 years, differnet ones and different combination at different times, NONE worked for me. I had to start ADT, and in one month, my psa started going down, so who should I trust. It’s also possible that it is working for others but for me it didn’t , UNFORTUNATELY.
