Radiation cystitis and blood clotting straight after having the Astra Zeneca jab

After zapping mets as treatment over the last few years about a year ago I developed radiation cystitis. Most of the bleeding came while urinating during a bowel movement or after. It’s flowed easily, however, after having gotten my Astra jab it clotted up and became difficult to start the urinating process. After a bowel movement in the morning it was all day urinating blood and had become difficult to start but eventually would blow the scab/clot and start. In the past the bleeding usually stopped after a few visits to the toilet but in this instance it went until night time. I went to bed but slept too long and when getting up at 3am I couldn’t force the clot out and went to the hospital. Fortunately when getting there another visit to the bathroom got it out and going.

The Astra Zeneca vaccine is known for clotting could this be associated with having the jab? Has anyone else experienced this? I’m having nightmares of my bladder exploding if this happens again.

The AZ issue is called thrombosis with thrombocytopenia syndrome (TTS). Onset is 4 days plus. I understand there are now tests available and you may want to see your GP. Here is a link to patient info:health.gov.au/resources/pub...

Thanks, it’s certainly not thrombosis, when I was at the hospital and asked the doc if there was any connection he said he didn’t know. I suppose there isn’t.

I had the same problem 2 weeks ago and stayed in the hospital for 8 days. I also had cystitis last year that’s also resulted in a hospital stay. But have never had a Astra Zeneca shot.

That’s a long time in hospital, I hope it improves.
