My husband, 78, had the same about 6 weeks ago - almost exactly 18 months after the end of 39 RT to prostate bed in 2019. Very red, so from lower in the GI or rectum. Initially also had a little blood on the TP and a tiny bit in the toilet bowl. Ended up passing a few small clots. No pain involved. Happened over a period of 36 hours and hasn't happened again - yet. He wrote it off to radiation damage because he had/still has no other symptoms and had a completely clear colonoscopy in early June of 2019 just before radiation started. I'm interested to see other responses.

In my case there may be more rectum damage due to pelvis and seminal points....radiation of 48 G boost
Should I just wait and see....TA sir what is your take
As you're considering, my husband has eased up on the fiber a bit. Curious to see what TA says as well. I agree that your treatment may have done more damage at the 48 G boost.
I am at my 22nd treatment out of 38 (87Gy)and I already started getting this. It began on Monday then nothing for the past 2 days and it started again today so I am curious to read what people will recommend.
I’m three years out from 42 radiation treatments to the prostate bed. The radiologists inserted a custom fitted balloon into my rectum to protect my colon. They ended the treatment a few blasts early because the weekly CT scan showed my colon was in danger of being damaged. I was also told at the beginning that I could develop hemorrhoids. I still get occasional bright red blood —small amounts— occasionally regardless of whether my stool is soft or constipated. Last week I expelled quite a bit of blood even though my stool was quite soft.
