Go back to 1998 and "Dr." Andrew Wakefield. Even today some people claim that vaccines cause autism even though Wakefield falseified research data and made things up to conform to his personal agenda.

How many people have died because of this guy? And he was never imprisoned even though he is a mass murderer. Yet how many people have been jailed or imprisoned for marijuana use?

Good reason to avoid getting science from mass media!

Agreed. The most they can do for us is give us ideas to check. I try to figure out the rationale and then scurry over to pubmed and clinicaltrials.gov. Media bats less than 1%.

Seems that these days, people do not need dubious studies to believe in alternative 'facts'.

But over the years, I have noticed that people who first mention Otto Warburg are about to give bad advice.

Incidentally, here's something that perhaps most believe - that we need eight 8oz drinks of water daily. There was never a study.
